He does have bone spurs but he could play through them the same way he always has. He's just being a punk. He went a whole year in '02 with them and was just fine. This is a guy who used to take pride in his durability and play through anything. He's had foot problems his whole life, just like anyone else who's taken a pounding on asphalt every day coming up playing ball in the playground.

The issue now is he wants to be back on the court by the start of next season because, you guessed it, it'll be a contract year. He's not slick. Like he's been telling everyone...he knows he's done with the Knicks. It's just an F-U on the way out. This cat was up in the locker room watching tv during the game. Him and Isiah were made for each other. The wrong Marbury made the L. It should have been Norm or Eric. Both had more heart in their thumbs than Steph ever had.
Why should anyone play through severe pain to help a team reach 25 wins? If he's in pain, I won't blame him for having surgery. I think anyone would.

Severe Pain?

It's well documented that pro athletes get bone spurs taken care of in the offseason because they are a nuisance...not some excruciating injury.

It's a cop out. I don't doubt he has them but I'm willing to bet that his knee hurts far more than his bone spurs. If they hurt so much where's the limping? The rehab? The sitting out multiple practices (not just saturday)????

He is done with the Knicks, he feels he is misused (he has been for 3 years now), the team is going no where so why bother (yeah, hes paid to play, so f-him for this idea.

Yet, fine, I don't care, he's been nothing but a disruption this year. Send him home, buy him out, and move forward.

I'm not sure what there is to discuss other than what could have been if Isiah DUMBASS Thomas let him be Starbury for more than 4 months since his acquisition and surrounded him with players who would defer to him and clean up the mess.

Well, whatever I Guess... it's such a mess I wonder why we even talk about the Knicks some times.

Here's what I don't get. Isiah did Marbury a HUGE favor by bringing him to the Knicks. And then rotating 3 or more coaches out the door cause he didn't like them. Turned over the roster to get players he thought Marbury would like and shoved out players that got in his way. Helped him get on the Olympic team.

This can't all be over the LA Clip non-start can it? What went wrong?

When Marbury first came here he was allowed to be Starbury and that took us to the playoffs.

Isiah then made too many trades and Marbury for whatever reason was asked to sacrifice his game. Bringing in Crawful finalized the fact that Crawful would be the gunner and eventually even the primary ballhandler (why, I have no idea...) and Marbury would be phased out and turned into Eric Snow.

It's really mind boggling that this is what transpired but it did.

Charles Oakley said it best a couple of years ago while taking in a game at the Garden the year after we got swept by the Nets in the playoffs "You have to bring in players that will play with Steph and not fight Steph."

Oakley plainly saw that Isiah was bringing in more gunners and ball dominant players and that was NOT the way to reap the reward of a player like Marbury.

I'm done with Marbury, I'm not going to sit here and pretend we'd have gone places if we stuck with that game plan when he first came here, but I think it's indisputable we would have been a much better team and probably in the playoffs each year if we kept things as was: Marbury dominating, and role players like Kurt, KVH, Doleac, Deke doing the dirty work and getting theirs when it came.

But NOOOOOOOOO Isiah had to be like a kid on NBA LIVE and it screwed everything up.

I mean, we're watching part two right now: Zach Randolph has destroyed what Eddy Curry was brought here to do. We were playing .500 ball with Eddy being force fed and this year I see no reason why - without trading for Randolph - we could not have been a .500 team THIS year. Again, not really going places, but - definitely looking a LOT BETTER.

Isiah Thomas is to blame and why he destroyed the career of his coveted franchise PG is beyond logic.

Marbury is a baby, no doubt, and he's done here, but Isiah had a big hand in that with his STUPID constant trading for gunner after gunner and his STUPID idea that he could turn Marbury into an Eric Snow on Roids. ISIAH THOMAS IS A FUCKING DUMBASS.

Nothing else needs to be said.....

they both deserve each other... Isiah didn't make Marbury into a knucklehead... that's how he came here... he treated his chance of a lifetime like it was his own personal playtime, & he has no one else to blame for that but himself... Isiah ruined this franchise w/many of his moronic trades & signings, & he's tarnished the credibility & reputation w/the pisspoor example he's set for these players w/his inexcusable off the court behavior... Marbury did much of the same w/his horrific selfish tendencies & constant conflicts w/teammates & coaches.

if he is hurt, and surgery or rest will help- i'm going to defend marbury- in part, because healthy and in the last year of his deal, he will have more trade for us than hurt.

Oh, I agree, but I usually find myself saying "they deserve each other" for situations such as Kobe, That stupid girl, her dumbass bellhop boyfriend, that retarded DA, that insane 99.9% pure community (HEIL HITLER!!!) <-lol , and Kobe's dumb wife. .... you know... of people you don't really care about? Laughing they are ALL making EACH OTHERS lives miserable?

Seeing this is our KNICKS, while true they deserve each other, just means.... continued pain for us.

Can't laugh at it just hope some day they all drag each other down to the point that someone will feed them all into a woodchipper so us Knick fans can feel like those deprived of oxygen on Mars in "Total Recall" who suddenly breathe the oxygen released from the martian machine that Arnold initiated.

I was one of the few who was really upset when isiah trade for marbury when frank williams was playing team ball with who he had to work with.
Frank stood up to jason kidd, nobody on this roster would stand up to J.KIDD.

Frank was made for NY , but the isiah led knicks didn't want him, then SOON AFTER his mom died and he had an injury and the big apple had to spit frank williams out of NY.

EVERYTHING WENT DOWN HILL AFTER THAT
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

the team will play much better without Marbury around.

probably just well enough so we don't get a top 5 pick.

First off, his month long beravement was a clear sign he wasn't to interested. Not taking away from his lost and his pain, but lets be realistic. Steph doesn't feel like he is part of the knicks futre, he knows he is either going to get traded or brought out. He has not looked as if he is having any real pain ( but then again niether did allan houston before the first surgery) yet you want to have this done when your team needs you the most. At least allan played through it until the off season(probably a mistake).

Im convinced he has lost his desire, and he see's the team as going no where this season. CAN U BLAME HIM. And im no fan of his.

Oak's known Steph since he had that gay ass two-toned fade and was conning his way in MSG for Knicks games. He was right, but even still the most you'll ever get from a player like Marbury was what Phoenix got when they tested San Antonio. You can't get far with a ball dominator under 6'5 unless he's got AI's superhuman ability and heart. Or you've got a bunch of guys like Philly had that knew their roles. Isiah didn't understand that and once he did...2 years ago...Steph's contract and personality disorders were too legendary to con another team into taking him. So he tried to make himself look good by being the one to "change" Steph. You can't "change" a guy after you've committed to giving him almost a million dollars a paycheck.

Jamel's over in Italy playing ball and writing a book. Steph was visiting him when he had his "epiphany" about playing overseas. He saw how big of a star he is over there and how good he's living and got it in his head that this was how he was ending his career.

He could have been a good NBA player but he always screwed up his workouts like he was nervous or something. Juice (R.I.P.) was good too.

Donnie was decent (better than Moses) but Eric and JuJu could have been very good NBA players. Eric would have been a serviceable combo guard and JuJu was one of the best guards I've ever seen play, period. Steph has the talent, probably more than all of them...except maybe neck and neck with JuJu.

But he lost his hunger as soon as Colangelo gave him that deal after Philly gave AI his. At least Colangelo realized his mistake and that Steph was no AI and got rid of him.

Exactly. Why he thought he'd be better at it than Flip...a guy that Steph loved playing for and 2 hall of famers, one of whom Steph worshipped before he became his coach (Lenny), not to mention countless others, including Frank Johnson who bit the bullet for Steph and Scott Skiles who he enjoyed playing for until they both realized they were both *******s.

How did you do multiple quotes in one post with the bold "originally posted by" stuff? (Did you type the names and bold the "originally posted by" yourself?)

Oh, using multiple tabs would work. (I knew it was bolded whenever you hit the quote feature; I just didn't know how to get that multiple times in the same post.)
