because if he posted like once every two months then i wouldn't believe it at all.

It's not an easy story to make up.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Alright now that I'm off my cell phone let me give a more detailed story.

My dad is friends with a lawyer who did work for Chris mullin's son in law, they had lunch together because my dad did some of the investigation for the issue that is going on. This was about 3 years back.
Then Chris Mullins called my dad 2 years ago to do a background check on Andrew Bynum, (he was forbid to tell me what team it was from but I assume whatever team Mullins was working for at the time because that is his only NBA connection/affiliate). Anyways today we are eating dinner and I bring up how much the Knicks suck and then he remembered his story to tell me. (he's kind of spacey so he forgot something like that ) These were his exact words, my buddy says that he talked to the the Chris Mullin's son in law and he said that they are in the process in working out a deal with the knicks where he and a few people (no clue who) would come over to the knicks as the GM. But only under 2 conditions, he gets complete and outright control over the knicks and gets a hefty salary.

I believed it because I know for a fact Mullin's family is located in New York during the summer, and they love New York (he is a member of Atlantic Beach Club- heard his wife saying that). Just gives him one more reason to move to New York.

This does not definitely spell the end for Isiah assuming Mullins comes over to the knicks...he could stay at head coach (I'm just guessing here), but I also think he wants complete control so he can fire Isiah and hire Don Nelson---again, just a theory.

As for my dad's story being legit, hes about 50, not sure how old his lawyer friend is (cant say his name---my dad requested me not to), but from the poster before he said that his daughter is about 23, so she could be getting married around now or already is married (whats stopping her from getting married at a young age, shes got the money to support a family). And it's not completely out of the question to think that this guy is about 25-30 years old.
I think it all adds up to his arrival.

And most importantly...the end of ISIAH!!!!

I don't know her age for sure.. I was just speculating...

lol..

Anyway if this info turns out to be true, I'd be pretty happy, although technically Mullin isn't exactly my ideal choice for an Isiah replacement, he'd at least be an upgrade over Isiah. I just hope it's true that Dolan is at least aware of the fact that Isiah needs to be canned and looking for replacements. I remember previously I hinged my hopes on that 20 loses article, and now I guess it's going to be this.

I really don't see what Chris Mullin did that was so impressive. I'd give him a chance, but I'm not all that impressed with no defense Golden State, and I'd be even less impressed if Don Nelson came here.

I agree. I don't think Mullin is that good really. He got the warriors to the playoffs for the first time in forever which is good, but, I don't think he's the kind of GM that could build a championship team. He does seem to be smarter than Isiah based on the way he's learned from his previous mistakes of signing people to long contracts (i.e. Jrich, and foyle). I'd wouldn't object to his hiring from the beggining at least (like I would if another Isiah esque person where hired i.e. Magic Johnson.) But I wouldn't be that excited about it. Most of my excitement would be from Isiah getting fired finally.

Basically. His track record isn't great but it's better than Isiah's. But then again, whose isn't?

If Mullin is learning from his mistakes, then fine. Again, I'll give him a chance. However, I WONT get excited about his hiring, until he's done some proving, and that could takes years if he decides to take the "Lets make the contracts expire" route. And I cannot STAND Don Nelson. He's not a championship coach. He'll take his teams far into the playoffs sometimes, but ultimately, his no defense and free for all offense kills his teams in the end. Guys like Jamal will learn nothing under that guy.

PS: If Mullin is negotiating full power, why couldn't we just get Colangelo?

Why would Colangelo work for Dolan?

Why would Mullin, if he wants full power?

Point is, if we're going to give that power to someone, why not give it to someone who actually has a history of being a good gm?

doesn't chris mullin have either a personal or family history of alcoholism?

this is exactly the kind of move dolan made with isiah- bring in a b ball celebrity with a mixed track record. flash and style over substance.

it will be a slight improvement, but honestly, they could promote a janitor and they could say that.

Phoenix won't win anything with D Antoni EITHER AS HEAD COACH, but boy how they are the leagues darlings.

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Why would Colangelo work for Dolan?

Colangelo and Donnie Walsh both have said something along the lines of it being a crown achievement to get New York respectable again and be proud to do so IF they were given full control to form the team as they see fit.

Dolan pays top dollar and is loyal once you're "in" so if you can do your thing why not?

There are much better qualified and proven candidates out there than Chris Mullin. I'd rather go with Greg Anthony to be honest. I'm not impressed at all with what Mullin has done in Golden State. They are a nice little team but that's not the type of team I want to see here.

I hope this is bull****.

Jerry Colangelo, Donnie Walsh, Jerry West, Jeff Van Gundy or Greg Anthony for me.

It also depends who Chris Mullin would bring in as the coach.

Mark Jackson?

Interesting that you mentioned Greg Anthony. What makes him more qualified and proven than Mullin?

Mullin isn't my favorite choice either, but there aren't many people I wouldn't consider an improvement over Isiah Thomas. In fact, I think we could extend that statement past humans. When you start getting into Isiah's own kind, you know, snakes, then it gets close.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.
