I get on Crawford fans because of that mentality: Who cares if he bricked the shot or we lost the game did YOU SEE that MOVE!? *drool*

LOL, don't make a post like this and decry FANS love of Crawford. You're part of the problem when you post his move. If you ignored it then there wouldn't be so much talk about it.

i think the affinity for Craw comes out of the fact that he's been at the center of most of the positive moments this franchise has had since Isiah's been here for the most part... all those clutch 4th quarter shots & whatnot... to me, i like him as a person like u mentioned... i think he's a great guy who's iminently coachable, but he hasn't had the right guidance under Isiah IMO... he was showing some good signs when LB was coaching him, but that all went by the wayside after Isiah took over the reigns... he returned back to being a chucker & his defense has worsened this year compared to how he was playing under LB.

i recognize all his shortcomings as a player the same as you... but like i said, until we get a better option to start at SG in here, he's the best we got... at least he doesn't bring any of the negativity that other players on this roster tend to do whenever things don't go their way.

Crawford's PER rating marks him as right around average. He isn't 'Crawful'. Only our SFs are (Q and JJ have a PER around 6.5)

Don't kill Crawford for this season.

Do you know that he ranks anywhere from 60-95 amongst NBA guards in every important "guard" category such as turnovers, shooting percentages, points per shot? Yet, he's our starter and he gets the duties and green light that STAR players get on their respective teams. You don't give a bad player the keys to the offense as he has been given. It dooms you and it doomed us the moment he put on the uniform.

Kill him alone for this season? Of course not. Yet he plays the biggest role on the team and he's one of the worst players on the team so he has one of the biggest hands in our poor play. When your driver crashes the bus 3 out of 4 times he takes you out for a ride you're not going to look very good.

I offered the clip because it was a nice clip in a tough situation where we needed a hoop. In fact, it shows that he's a knucklehead for NOT going to the rim more often instead electing to do that move then step back and clank one.

I'm hardly a part of the problem that Crawford is not a good player.

I also see no reason to be silent on the issue. This is a discussion board right? A place to share ideas and debate opinions, right? I'm pretty sure it is. I don't recall reading anywhere that it's a "Only post positive thoughts!" site.

I agree with all of this.

I will just add that his highlights, although pretty big noticeable highlights, just don't cancel out the multitude of lowlights as far as the Knicks success is concerned. Big fans of his? They seem to cancel it out for them...that's their right. No biggie, I'm just not on board with that.

I don't view Crawford's occasional great showings to sway my view of him nor his highlight reel moves, but you've gotta admit that he's once entertaining guy when he get's going. The way he can handle the rock and get by people is shocking at times. I just want to see him be more aggressive that way. The way the offense is structured we don't make use of his, Nate and Steph's skills enough by using screens more often. We should be using more curl plays and generally making teams chase our guards all night rather than more iso's. It would reduce the TO's for Jamal and lead to more dump off passes to our bigs.

Jamal can be frustrating, but to me that's about coaching too. You have to give him specific orders and he'll be more under control. It seems that Isiah has done something different with Jamal lately cuz he's been more focused than in previous games this season. He's been looking for penetration more and taking better shots. Having him come off curls and penetrate more will improve his efficiency.

call me crazy but with a good coach I think Crawford could make the transition into a good PG. He's smart and listens. He was one of the few guys that didnt quit on Larry Brown and he had a very good season. In fact I remember a couple games where he even had 10 rebounds. His role on this team is junk though.

totally agree fish... he's also logged the most double digit assist games on this team since he's been here.

True indeed, but the age of the hard-ass coach is going the way of the dinosaur.

You just love how that move got the crowd off their feet.I also loved seeing Hinrich scoring on the other end with more ease and less effort.
It's funny how this whole world is based on one dummy controlling another, and the leader dummy was chosen by a whole bunch of dummies.

LOL, this dud is soooo bitter.

You are vilgantly angry at Crawford for things not in his control, you do understand that Cosmic??? He isn't the coach, the GM or the team owner, he isn't even the fans cheering over his cross over...... it's probably me though, but if he was one of the worst players one the team you probably would have to be so viglant, eh???

Jamal Crawford isn't a good player. He doesn't provide play that would contribute to a winning formula. That is evidenced by the fact that he has never been to the playoffs in his entire career. All he is a chucking no-defense guard with streetball handles. Yippee Ka Yay.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Excellent Point!

I remember having this distinct discussion with TKF over this when he did it to Deron

How so? And what problem?

I help Jamal stink?

Or...I help Jamal fans get overly excited over a single play while ignoring his multitude of weaknesses?

Which one is it? Or both?

I'm sorry...but you're both bonkers for suggesting as much. I say that with love. I do....

These kind of moves by Jamal only expose he's a problem to our problems. But when he pulls them off people look at it with hope and Nutride. When they watch them over and over it clouds what real basketball is and fans will go pack the Garden to see Jamal. Tell him how sick he is and request for him to do this move instead of going there to see THE KNICKS because they know they're a winning basketball team. I'm speaking from a cultural standpoint. It's part of the reason why no one can shoot in this league anymore and lack fundamentals. The Video is like free advertisement of what's wrong with the NBA and especially our team.

How many palming, traveling, double dribbling violations has Jamal been called for this yr?

But it still mind bogging how player as good as Jamal is wasting all his talant because of misfortune of plaing only on losing teams.
With all his problems he can be much better player when propely used and coached.
He can really contribute to winning team and became better.
Sad... sad... sad...

Jamal isn't an efficient player. He is a guy who can get hot and carry you late in games. Thats pretty much his only strong dimension. You can't build your team around that. He may be getting to the point where he has matured too much to change his ways. Can he ever be a pass-first PG? No... he's a chucker. A nice luxury to have on a team looking to add that final piece maybe. Not for us long haul.
