If you have Tim Duncan, you can execute a plan like this. If you're searching for an anchor to your floundering franchise, you're going to want to keep throwing high ceiling guys at a wall until one sticks.

yea, but that is a flawed plan, and the reason why the knicks are in this mess now.. If you don't have a duncan, then keep the plan simple and clean. Short cheap contracts, high character players, draft picks and cap flexibility, do that until you find that "duncan" for sure... Don't blow your load on a maybe, or a huge Question mark or a project(like curry).

Well said.

Indeed. What tkf said is essentially what the Blazers did and how they got Brandon Roy... someone who will be an absolute force if he stays healthy.

There's no way they should be as good as they are without Greg Oden, but they are. They have no bad contracts except for the bad apple known as Miles and have a bunch of solid players via the draft. Like the article pointed out, Jason Kapono credited the Raptors chemistry for the win. These three factors created an environment where the sum of the parts is greater than the whole. Despite all that, there really is one way for the Blazers to go, and that is up in the standings.

I don't know if you remember a couple of seasons ago, we played the blazers and beat them, I did my now famous "keys" to the game.. LOL.. and I basically trashed both zach and miles and I said, the blazers will never get better until they get rid of both players. Do you remember how those silly blazers fans came over there crying, and whining, saying, how can I bash their team and Z-bo that way? LOL.. Now those same fans are telling me how great they are, now that zach(traded) and miles(exiled) are now gone...

the only thing I never saw comming, was them dumping zach on us... wow!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sure, I remember that... coupled with Blazers fans saying there was no way ZBo would ever get traded to the Knicks (because we didn't have the pieces), then later trying to justify the move from a talent perspective (like Frye now was an elite prospect), to now claiming that they knew trading ZBo was addition by subtraction clearly, that was what the other two points inferred) has me thinking Blazers fans are the dumbest base in professional sports. The keys was the beginning of them demonstrating their complete ineptitude.

LOL.. Yea, I find that funny. I also find it funny now that the blazers winning, frye is now critical to their success.. lol.. those idiots don't realize that just getting rid of zach made them better.. frye really is just a throw in piece that happened to not hurt the team or destroy any chemistry. Frye is a decent player for them, but he being there is not going to make them one game better or worse.. it was all about getting rid of zach.....

Wait hold on, all summer you were smacking your flippers together waiting for Isiah and Dolan to lob you another fish. Now all of a sudden you're claiming bad fish? Hmmm I don't get it.

Gimme a break. He was 97.9% converted last year too. Still didn't stop him from snacking on Isiah and Dolan's stale rotting fish all summer long. Trust me, if Isiah tosses up Ron Artest snacks, TKF will be at the head of the pool with mouth open swooshing his little fishy body around. Trust me.

Isiah do your thing and go get him!!! He fits in perfectly with the share the ball roster defensive minded squad you created. Just make sure Marbury, Curry and James are still here because we want the maximum of amount of team players as possible. Also keep Larry Brown because we all know your dream is too actually kill a coach. And while you're at it, see if Portland wants to part with that nice hardworking young fella named Darius Miles whose been nothing but a bundle of joy wherever he's been.

portland fans went nuts when I basically trashed miles and zach earlier this year, and then we had these self hating knick fans who think everyother teams player is great and all we amount to are homers who can't see the greatness in guys like zach randolph and miles, jumping on their side... LOL.. I saw this crap comming. what a bum...

I may have to bump TKF down a little more now that you bring this up. He's about 75% converted.

TKF hasn't fully let go but he truly has come a long way. I don't mean this in a negative way but he did expose himself the other day in Brigg's thread about looking at the good Curry gives us.

I think he made a statement along the lines of "not wanting to give up on a 25yr old offensively productive center", even piggybacking Brigg's HORRIFUL idea of possibly continuing rebuilding around Curry.

I fired back with look at SAR or even Pau Gasol as examples of productive players in their prime, who are/were better players than Curry, with systems built around them and how their team's faired.

TKF gave the achillies response the die hard nutriders cling to which is "because they feel Dolan and I SAY UGH will never change and will remain then what's the best case scenario"?

So we see threads like the ones Briggs makes. Once again not knocking Briggs, but showing if you're converted then there's only 1 option and rebuilding around Curry ain't it. Briggs won't let go of the Teddy Bear Curry and continues to make these threads once a month suggesting Chubby is worthy, anyone who is fully converted wouldn't support such an idea.

When Clyde and Gus are against what's going it's time to look at yourself long and hard in the mirror and Man Up full circle.

Ahhh but you're missing the key ingredient here. TKF is a flipflopper. He flips then he flops, flops then flips. Flippity flops. I remember exactly when he said those words about Zach. Thats when we stunk and he was angry. But TKF is a stubborn little fish. When it's feeding time, a smiling Isiah comes over to the ledge, in one hand you have Stevie Frankenstein, and in the other hand, you have Zach Randolph. Now the fish aren't stupid, they know both don't taste very good. But one thing all the little fishies know and that is, Stevie Frankenstein is not edible at all. So in order to satisfy their hunger, anything Isiah lobs up in the air, is preferable to the stinking **** that was served before. And there was TKF, smacking his little flippers in appreciation all summer long.

Everything Was Funny

It takes balls and courage to do what we do on a daily basis and for as long we do. There are some definite barriers still. Cut from a different cloth so-to-speak.

I don't know if TKF or other fans on this forum would fit in this boat but take for instance we win 4gms in a row...... there would exist a crowd not scouting draft prospects anymore or looking at our lottery position, instead they'd be looking at the NBA standings wondering if we can solidify ourselves as a 10th seed by All-Star break and make a push for the 8th seed/playoffs second half of the season.

Meanwhile the crowd we fit into, feels such a scenario would be the worst thing that could happen.

BTW what did Curry do tonight? Shot well in the first qrt and overall in the game 10-17fg 24pts but also let Brad Miller have a better game. And he did absolutely nothing else like he always does. Brad Miller 16reb Curry 3reb, Nate Robinson 4reb Curry 3reb, Beno Udrih 5reb Curry 3reb, Wilson 16min Chandler 3reb EY 31min Curry 3reb.

Trust me, I Know TKF's deal, just like Blue Seats knows Papabears deal. I was yelling at TKF this past summer for being a bad fan and a flip flopper. He does the same **** every year, nothing new. He yapped back at me. If we go on a 4 game winning streak, TKF will be back at the head of the line. He knows it, and won't deny it. This summer just like last summer, I told him exactly how this season would play out. But this time I said you better not flip flop back onto the side of being angry at the Knicks cause now is when you should be angry at Isiah. He just brought in Zach for Christs sakes and is pairing him with Stiffbury, Crawful and Curry. But no, there was TKF, the stubborn little fish that he is happily swimming up to the ledge waiting for snacks telling me to piss off once again. TKF is a bad fan. He understands. He's just stubborn.

hell, let me jump in here.. LOL..

majorleads, You call me a flip flopper, just because I don't see everything as bad, I, we, most of us see this situation as a dumpster fire, but I still root for the knicks. That is the fan in me. you say I will be waiting to cheer an artest trade, and that is so far from the truth, go read my post in these "lets get artest threads" I am completely against these types of deals. The difference between me and you, is that you say everything the knicks do is bad, but when they win a few games, you dissapear in fear that hell, maybe they have turned the corner, you never show your face in those rare moments, but you are the fist to come around when the shyt hits the fan, and that is cool. It is easy to the one who says everything stinks, it is easier to jump on the bandwagon, once or if things ever get good... I root for the team to win, although I know the situation at this point is hopeless, I hate it, but the fan in me still roots, you call that flip flopping, I call that keeping some level of sanity for me, among this mess..
TKF hasn't fully let go but he truly has come a long way. I don't mean this in a negative way but he did expose himself the other day in Brigg's thread about looking at the good Curry gives us

True, I agreed with briggs to some degree there, if you read my posts, I want both zach and curry gone, but I hate giving up on 25 year old centers. I have soured a lot on curry, but ask blueseats about me and marbury, I gave this guy 2 years , backing him before I completely cast him off, maybe my tolerance level is a littler higher than some, but that is just me. The thing about briggs post that I pointed out is that, Isiah is going nowhere and he seems hell bent on making oil and water mix, I think as a fan you have to find some level of entertainment with this dysfunctional team. Mine is watching lee play, hoping chandler and morris plays, and hoping one day curry becomes the player that all of us at one time thought he could be.... that may be a dream, but damnit, what else do we have? we have? our owner is holding us hostage and Isiah has the damn gun!!

thanks blue, I am glad you found that. Guys like majorleads get selective memory, but anyway, I will admit, that when we traded frye for zach as much as I hated that guy, I had gotten so down on frye, that I tried to justify the trade in my mind at least, that we got the more talented player, but that is what most of us are reduced to. I mean what in the hell do you do, when you have no control and your GM keeps getting players you hate, and know don't belong here? I knew deep down inside that this trade was going to be a mess, I hoped for the best as a fan, but deep down, I got the chills.. I never liked zach, I even got into it with blazers fan and the blazers mod, when I trashed both zach and miles, and strange to say, when miles was with the clippers I was a fan of his, but as time moves on with some of these guys, you just see that they are a poison pill to any team they join.. I saw zach and miles for what they were when they got to portland... And for some reason, I have a odd feeling that miles will one day end up in a knicks uni.. at which time everything will come into focus for all of us, and realize that Isiah was out to destroy the knicks from the start.. LOL!!

HA HA HA HA

TKF come on be real for once. I know it's hard for you to do, but think, think long and hard about the conversation we had this summer. Think TKF, THINK. And when you're recalling that conversation, recall the many other conversations we've had all through the years. I never disappeared once, you know that to be true. You also know that I laid out in perfect order during this past summer how this season would go and what your response would be. Now, if you want to continue playing the flip flop game, FINE, but you and I both know you will be back on the Dolan express once the season ends. You know it, and I know it.

So you can continue to say I'm this or I'm that, I run, I hide, whatever, I think everyone is crystal clear on what my position is and has been on the Knicks since the day Stephon Marbury became a Knick. I might not be right all the time, but one thing I have been is consistent during the season and in the summer...when it's most important to hold this team accountable.

I honestly think that you confuse me rooting for the team, with agreeing with Isiah and dolan... I will admit as a fan, they almost got me to buy into seeing if zach and curry would work, LOL.. but deep down, I hated this guy from day 1, but I am always willing to give it a chance... I did that and I can see it is a disaster, and that my first thoughts of zach which was 2 years ago was correct.... if you want to call that flip flopping, go ahead, I don't agree.. I am real... why don't you be real.... hope is all we have as fans, you go along as a fan who is certain there is no hope, so I ask, why do you still waste time posting about the knicks? I will answer that, it is because you, deep down inside hope and pray for change..and the guy you hate is the guy you are praying change things, so either you are riding the dolan express hoping he will change things, or you must be insane rooting for a team and knowing things will never change.. either way, stop trying to be an internet gangsta, self proclaimed knick hater/nostradamus..... You be real... LOL..

Hey, I could come in here every day, just like you and say knicks stink, dolan sucks and isiah is the devil, and at this point I will be 100% correct..but as a fan, and we all are fans, the reason why we post is because we love the knicks and we hope for change, and the man responsible for change is the man we all have little faith in, so don't get on this high horse acting like anyone is crazy if they try to find some sort of solace in this dumpster fire we call the knicks.... you are still around because you yourself hope for better. so, you may not be drinking the coolaid, but in some ways you are sneaking sips, because you still have hope that things change and that a man you feel is a idiot will change them.. unless you are just posting to torment yourself.... Are you?

There is no "solace in the dumpster fire." There are 0 positives from this season and there will never be any positives from the Isiah era.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

I am fairly new to this forum, so I couldn't fairly explain/justify anyone's point of view on this thread. My simplistic watered down opinion is that some people are glass half full people. And some people are glass half empty people. The glass half full people will always try to find a silver lining in things, no matter how bleak the situation. And being as how the Knicks have most of us on our last nerve, some might have a harder time trying to find that silver lining. Thanks Isiah!

Me personally, I am a glass half empty guy, I always have been, but everyone is entitled to there opinions. That's just my two cents anyway...

I agree.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

On glass half full vs. glass half empty, there was a Garfield comic at some point that summarized this perfectly. Jon has a glass with milk in it. Jon asks Garfield if he considers the glass half full or half empty. Garfield grabs the glass and quickly gulps down the rest of the milk and places it down. He then says, "COMPLETELY EMPTY".

I believe that accurately summarizes the Knicks situation.
