Shaun Livingston is extremely interesting. If he could every stay healthy he is a Pure PG and would be fantastic player to have. 2 years at something less than the full MLE is the max he'd get IMO, and I think he'd be willing to take that because if he can stay healthy he would get himself a much better contract. Risks like that are worth taking.

at those dollars i have a hard time believing the Clips won't retain him... ur gonna have to pony up a long term deal to get him so w/that comes the huge risks for injury.

We shouldn't sign another free agent until we get above water. You're going to have to overpay in most cases to get a player to come here anyway.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

I'd be willing to pay Calderon and Ellis 6 years 60mm$ each. I dont think the Raptors or GS would touch those numbers--now how do I S+T without giving up my lottery pick:)

Completely agreed. This team is terrible. Why cripple it further with financial inflexibility if the best-case outcome of the signing is bumping the Knicks into first round butt-whipping at the hands of the Detroits of the world?

Depends- Clippers are notoriously tight with money, but b/c they've invested a lot in him, they probably would look to keep him. At the same time, both parties might see the need for a fresh start. It will be tough to get him without giving him an extra year committment or more dollars, but this is a guy that you need to do the due dili on.

Thank you! 100% Agree.

Our last 2 MLE signings- JJ1 & JJ2 - I honestly did not think we overpaid JJ2- we were just slightly over what washington was offering - now, can we move either JJ1 or JJ2?

The Hawks will probably sign and trade josh smith somewhere and offer calderon a contract that would be a perfect place for him with johnson, horford, childress and williams no reason to give smith 10 million per if he is an animal

Calderon ad Monta would make a difference here, but I'd rather build from the draft anyway. I think the quickest way out is to develop the players we've drafted and when they become restricted free agents, we can set up sign and trades to clear out some of the bad parts of the roster. Lee and Morris would be should be given every opportunity to play and increase their value. They'd be good for the Knicks if they played anyway.

The moves Isiah has made would have been fine if the players were signed to movable contracts. You could get yourself back out of the mess quickly. We should look to sign players who want to be in New York to less than market value deals.

Briggs, you have a nice list, but a few things:

1) You don't think Ellis will command more than the MLE? I mean, if it weren't for Baron, he'd flourish.

2) Giving Shaun Livingston the MLE would be just as suicidal as giving a fat 30 year old center, who barely gets off the bench, the full MLE. Oh wait...

3) Childress is nice to have, but I'd much rather shoot for the stars and see if we can possibly trade for Josh Smith first.
