i think balkman cares. he was arguably the best player in all of vegas SL last year (including all the first rounders from last year and what not), i think the key thing to remember is EVERYBODY on this team has quit. if balkman was in the right situation, he'd be a solid role player.

how would you feel if you were balkman and Q still played 30 mpg and you got 15 min one night and a DNP-CD the next? you'd probably not give a damn either

balkman has been consistently burned by everyone he's been guarding this season.

he was asked to stay with matt carroll, 2 possessions, 2 three point baskets. how does that happen? if he's in the game for his defense, and he's asked to guard a player who only does one thing, then what does that say about his abilities?

Balkman has taken a serious step back. I dont know what happened but if the ahole isiah would let him get into the flow maybe he can get out of his funk.

I want to leave something that's going to stand for a long timeI want to leave a legacy,I want to leave tradition.I want to leave an imprint,a blueprint in terms of how people play, and how they coach and how they respond when they put on the Knick uni.

Isiah is just plain stupid. Balkman like all the other knicks doesn't take their job seriously. This ****ing guys are out all the time at the clubs jerking around coming into work not ready. Its Isiah fault for bringing guys like this in......

I could draft this loser under the table in my sleep, please don't even try to defend his draft record with us because it sucks. David Lee, thats it he never drafts for a need always grabs someone he thinks is an amazing athlete.....

Frye was a joke where he was picked, right now if most fans drafted instead of Isiah we would have a center for the future and a pg for the future........

Not to mention the Heat are terrible the cavs are terrible, and those guys are leaving those organizations you think they are happy but because Isiah needed to kill Eddys trade value and bring in zach this franchise is ****ed for the next decade....

instead of having Rondo/Farmer/Lowry with Rudy Gay/Aldrigdge/Roy as well as Noah/Thorton/Young and Bynym to go with David Lee we have nothing.......

Isiah sucks thats all you can say, and Nazar and Kurt Thomas look better than our frontcourt and would have produced more wins for the team already and we wouldn't have to watch Richardson miss shots all night long......

He is a snake, a piece of garbage he is lost in every facet of the game.......

The smart play is to draft someone like Tiago Splitter and leave them in europe if your sleep can't crack a rotation on an 8-21 with no outside threat at the three

I think you are wrong about Balkman. He might have given up or something but he can change a game with his defense. I agree with VDesai. Right now it's hard to evaluate anyone cause this season is FUBAR.

Balkman hasn't regressed but he hasn't improved either. That's not a surprise because he's not a skills player. He's an energy guy with far below average basketball skills.

He's never going to be able to score at this level. He's role playing energy guy who can defend on the wings and in the passing lanes in addition to hustling for rebounds. That's all he'll ever be and it's not a bad thing. But he's been so overrated by Knicks fans that it looks like he's regressing.

There were much better basketball players to pick at 21 when Isiah took Balkman. Players that they could really use right now.

Balkman is not a scrub... he's been buried in the same crap & nonsensical rotations that the entire team has had to undergo for the past several years, giving guys playing time based on their salaries instead of their production... Isiah should have taken Jared Fishlips & Q Rich out of the rotation & given those minutes to Balkman & Chandler a long time ago... i don't believe for a second that had we drafted Marcus the truth Williams or Josh the hitman Boone, they would have been seeing all that much playing time on this roster either... y'all would probably be talking about how Isiah wasted his picks on those guys while guys like Balkman & Mardy are seeing meaningful minutes on other teams.

Papabear Says

You know today on MSG they ran a special autobiography on John Starks. It showed some of his college games and about him packing grocerys. Larry Brown was the first coach to take interest in him. When he was finally bought to the Knicks I believe it was for a 10 day contract. He played his butt off. They showed early in his career him head butting the Pacers great and crashing the boards over Michael Jordan. When I saw Ewing, Oakley,Mason, and the rest of the Knicks walking on the court with Starks, they were special players who could handle playing in New York. They were tough and could back it up. They got respect. Man I was jumping up and down reviewing those video clips. Jordan was probably the greatest player but he even knew playing the knicks in a playoff games was more difficult that playing for the championship.
The team we have now has no charator or idenity. Maybe just Maybe it will take an ex Knick like an Ewing, Starks, Oakley, Or LJ to put together a New York team that represents the New New York Knicks. Dolan will probably have to shell out over 125 million dollars to correct the wrong.

K.Lowry is the player I wanted the Knicks to pick

I'm Kentucky fan, and I'm glad the Knicks didnt draft Rondo. Rondo is NOT a PG. He's J.Crawford, 6 years younger.

With a pass first PG, Balkman will be human highlight film in the league.
I have not seen enough of Collins to have an opinion on him and his game.

Papabear said it best. Starks was a winner, even though he won't leave the Earth with rings. You know he, Mason, Oakley, Ewing and everybody else wanted to win in the worst way. However, there was something else about all of those players; they were MEN.

This team is full of KIDS. And Isiah has to show the innate ability to sniff that out in his athletes. He needs to see maturity and toughness more than anything else. Because, without that, you won't survive in NY.
