And being without Lee is a not' a big problem? This guy proved last year that he deserved a starting position. It isn't fair to put him behind the scenes, only for him to have to prove himself again. If anyone was developing, it was Lee. And now you'd let him go? Our rookies are the least of our problems. Our biggest and most pressing problems are two things. Isiahs future with this team and the huge, lopsided contracts that he's signed. That would be the most ironic thing to me, if Lee was gone and Isiah was still here. I swear, I'd become a Net fan in protest, if that' happened.

we are losing so he does nothing to deserve starting

Player option after year 3? No way. That makes it very difficult to assess his value if you need to move him if things don't work out, or doesn't fit in, or suddenly a player emerges that is better than him. Isiah has killed us with all of these player option contracts. They should have been TEAM options. Crawful, Chubby, Jeffries and James, those contracts are killers. But the latter 3 are bad players, you have to figure them being straight deals with no potential of opting out. Crawful could opt out, but thats only to get more guaranteed money in the long term. Can't see any GM giving that clown a long term deal averaging 10 mil per.

And 6 years is one too many unless it's for a star player. You can't move those types of contracts, and if he gets hurt, you're screwed for an awfully long time. Ideally a 4 year contract would be perfect with a TEAM option for a 5th. Thats all I'd do for Lee. He looks good at times because everyone else on our team sucks.

So in other words you will not match.
Lee will get overpayed not because of any reasoning, but because this is NBA.
And if Knicks will not mutch he wil be gone.
Is this good thing or bad thing is to be seen.

Well you're assuming there will be a team over the cap who will use their VALUABLE cap space to overpay for David Lee, a power forward who plays no defense. I highly doubt that. Gerald Wallace was resigned to a 6 year 56 million dollar contract and he is LIGHT YEARS better than David Lee. Again, anything more than 5 for 35, I sign and trade him ONLY if offered something good in return. And if there is a team dumb enough to give him much bigger money, then it's adios sayonara David Lee. Not like we can't find another PF who will contribute the same crappy defense while making much less money and contributing to us being in the toilet bowl.
