I said it best! If any of you seen Spiderman III then you know what I'm talking about..

The Orange and Blue is long gone! We now have the darkside! Just complete blackness as long as Dolan is running the show.

Spiderman went through the same phase but he realized it was changing him for the worse so he decided to return to the good old blue and red. The hero as we know him..

When will the Knicks come back to the Orange and Blue? :<(

this is the problem, at least with killa and myself since we are in the same age group (tho i'm far superior in intellect and aesthetics), we grew up during the ewing era. the worst knicks team i could remember was pitino's first season and the stu jax/mclean year. then we were spoiled with a team that played hard every night and had a shot to win a title every year.

then there was a down period but the hope was still there b/c you figure "hey, in a couple of years, it will turn around again."

and then isiah arrived and dropped a deuce in our cereal.

also, we grew older and learned more about the business side of basketball and how a team improves and the restrictions put on them from improving.

so we are here today, with a team that has given us zero reason to cheer them, zero reason to support them, zero reason to be optimistic, and really, zero reason to follow them.

jimimou and i have had season tix since 2002. like you said killa, imagine paying money to watch this crap. as jimi's pops tells us everytime we see him: "you guys are stupids. you guys are idiots."

05/06 - we were pumped b/c even tho they won 23 games, we thought lb would stick around and change stuff.
06/07 - just went to games hoping they would lose so we can get isiah gone
07/08 - hate every second we are there. within the first 5 mins of a preseason game vs. boston, we looked at each other and said "we made a mistake." luckily we sold about about 20 sets of seats, but we still don't want to go to the other 20 games.

With the larry season it was feb before all was lost that the team quit on him.

At least until Marbury got hurt that year the teams excuse was there was lots of new faces, rookies, and a coach that was trying to break them down and build them back up.

He broke them down which looks dispicable when in hindsight you consider they just did not care to pull themselves up.

BUt at least one could meausre Eddy getting in shape an when he got the ball with movement he was unstoppable. ONe could see Craw make progress on defense, Dlee emerge before our eyes, etc.

This group NEVER had a chance this season. They were dead out of the gate and it just decomposes as the season continues. The stench is getting worse.

It ain't even January!!!!!!!!

I disagree. Once a team quits for an entire season, it is very difficult to recover.

before the season, i got into a discussion with a poster about how this organization and the hawks are very similar in their ineptitude.

the hawks are now 15-12, a record we haven't seen in 3 years.

so i would like to officially apologize to the hawks for comparing that team to this abomination.

I'm not gonna quit loving my team , I'm just hating this guy from the southside of chicago who only purpose was to screw up professional basketball in the city that never sleeps.

Once Isiah's is replaced and guys like Jerome "eat-n- sleep" James , Eddy "the tumbler" Curry ,Jamal "AND1" Crawford, Stephon "the baby" Marbury
Q "I can't shoot" Richardson and the knicks start winning again all you guys will be back in full force chanting Go nY gO Ny GO
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Owner needs to MAN UP and finally realize he needs to hire a crafty, shrewd guy who will be held responsible and have full control of the Knicks b-ball operations.

Whoever has the full control of this b-ball team will hire a crafty, smart G.M who can really turn this around within 2 to 3 yrs.

That G.M will hire a good coach that can fit the system they're trying to implement.

Ex. For six yrs now, Rod Thorn has been President of b-ball ops with the Nets and he was able to bring in some good basketball people that knew how to build a contender.

Wait, you're not naturally bald? Damn, I'm feeling old again...

Anyway, looks like Oohah and Rembee are the last "real fans" standing.

Where is Rembee anyway? For all we know he may have donned a beret and is leading the underground resistance movement to oust Isiah. Viva Nueva York!!!

The knicks rarely bring me joy anymore. When they win, I'm happy, but its a fleeting, unfulfilling kind of happiness. I now know what its like to love someone addicted to drugs. Even on their good days, you cant trust them, because youve been burnt too many times. I felt this way once before during the LB season. This time, I have really lost alot of love for this team. Isiah, Dolan, Marbury, Quentin, Curry, I need them out of my life. Like yesterday. THe other players arent perfect, but those guys, theyve gotta go.

Dolan is the living embodiment of the argument against nepotism. What a spectacular failure the knicks are. Dolan, you decide not to settle out of court to spare your organization the bad publicity, thinking youd save yourself some money. What did you get? Emberassment, you lost the case, and you still costed yourself a ridiculous amount of money. It doesn't make her right, it just makes you really really stupid.

I hate the knicks. I hate them for making me hate them. They may win me back, when my kids are college aged, but it will never be the same. I have joined the dark side.

I'd kill myself if I had season tickets.

sorry to hear you feel this way. it DOES suck b/c at the end of the day, you WANT to route for the team you grew up liking and still follow as an adult. it will get better one day, no worries there, but right now, these clowns are making an embarrassment of our city and it's basketball tradition. and, ps: don't go trying to kill yourself over this...a better idea would be that we all go and eggbomb isiah's house in westchester. that would be more fun

Bip, you were warning people when the team weren't out of the gates yet...The core hadn't been assemblem yet...Isiah had run the old guard out of town only a few months and you were in the nay camp already...You hadn't given the team a chance to see if they can play together and now you are saying people who were hammering them out the gates needs an aoplogy??...Some folks here like to give everyone a fair chance before we form an opinion...

Do you even recall what I was saying back then, or are you just guessing? Judging by this response you were just guessing.

Here is the timeline to refresh your memory:

1.) I was sick of Layden's team and Isiah was hired. I was wide open to giving Isiah a chance.
2.) Isiah starts assembling the TT's and Marbs of the world. I expressed confusion but was still in Isiah's corner. Just didn't have an idea what his plan was. But rarely criticized him
3.) LB is hired. The board shoots it's collective load calling us Phoenix east. A large portion of the board was convinced we were about to see an instant turnaround. I was still in Isiah's corner and warned the board over and over again to not get to excited. That this core was not strong enough to win and that we need to curb our enthusiasm. I was called many names for this. I TRIED TO WARN YOU
4.) Team quits on LB. At this point I knew that it was time to get rid of the core. You can't build on top of a team that quits. I knew it would happen again. I TRIED TO WARN YOU
5.) LB is fired after one year. I realized that Isiah did not have a plan and it was probably time to replace him.
6.) I don't think those that hammered them out of the gates deserve an apology for anything but for the names they were called because they saw what you are seeing today years in advance. You are only upset now because it is obvious to you what is wrong. Waht you don't understand it was obvious to many long before this moment. While you were giving it a chance, many knew where we were headed.

You were pounding them when LB was hammering them...Curry hadn't even gotten a chance to play yet before LB was pulling his stunts and you were right on board...LB quit on this team long before the team quit on him...In your eyes LB could do no wrong when he could be fully responsible for showing these guys how to quit...Showing Marbs how to exploit a personal tradegy for personal gain..Remember LB staying away from the team a few extra games after he became "ill"...

The premise of trying to warn people before this team even had a chance to play together is a little puzzling...Curry was hurt at the beginning of the season, Marbs was hurt at the end..Thats two pretty important parts of the core who had not really got a chance to play or gel together before all the people in the "know" had an opinion about the direction of this team...Amazing...

I warned everyone 2 years ago just look at my screen name. This was a sinking ship.
I want to leave something that's going to stand for a long timeI want to leave a legacy,I want to leave tradition.I want to leave an imprint,a blueprint in terms of how people play, and how they coach and how they respond when they put on the Knick uni.

You took this long to figure out Isiah sucks. That's the amazing part.

This is what you don't get. The nobility of giving a team a chance is unimportant. Take your personal feelings of LB, and Stephon and anyone else and you could see this coming. Those that called me a "Larry Lover" continue to think that I give a rats asse about LB. YOu guys are so emotionally involved with who the players are and who the coach is that you sometimes forget that you are KNICKS FANS.

I did not say one thing bad about this team until they quit during the LB season. As a matter of fact I was the guy that ran from post to post telling you guys to calm down, that LB was not magical and would not create a winner overnight. I was the one telling you guys to give this team time to grow. It wasn't until I saw them quitting that my tune changed. I didn't need to give them more time. That was your mistake. At that point I knew it was time to break up the core. It had nothing to do with my personal feelings about the players. Quitting gets into your blood and it doesn't go away. It was time to get a portion of our core(Curry, Marbs, Jamal, Q, Antonio) away from the young guys so that they do not infest them. It was time to bring in some proven winners to change the culture and teach those that remained. Some of us saw the culture issues then, Not today when you are seeing it. There are always reasons to quit, none of them are good. The team actually had good reason to hate LB. LB didn't want to coach them, so I can completely understand them hating him. YOu and I are in 100% agreement on this no matter how you try to twist my thoughts. The problem is that you don't play for the coach. YOu play for yourself, your family, your teammates and your city. If the entire team needs the coach to be motivated to win games than unfortunately you have to break it up. Or it will creep up again. It doesn't matter how you and I feel about the individual players, the coach and GM. It doesn't matter if I am willing to give them a chance or not. It has nothing to do with whether you want to "give them a chance" or not. It doesn't matter if LB was right or wrong. This is irrelevant. What matters is that I have seen this enough times to know that once a team finds reasons to quit, they will do it again. You have seen this too. You understand this too. You just put your feelings for the players ahead of the truth. I TRIED TO WARN YOU!!!

This was inevitable. I said it then and was called a hater for it. You are just seeing the manifestation of what I knew to be true. Once a team quits, the core will quit again. How a GM did not see the need to bring in new leaders to teach the young guys is beyond me.
