whether he was touted as a 1st or 2nd rounder is not any teller of his ability to play at this level until he gets a chance to show it on the court... there are plenty of guys who were picked in the 2nd round that proved they had the ability to be very good players in this league... let's see the kid actually get some burn before we cast any judgements on his upside.

You're right in that regard... he may be good. The flip side to that argument that there are a decent amount that would like to see him get some legit playing time. What has he done in the NBA or the previous level the warrants minutes in the rotation?

I wouldn't say Isiah not playing him tells us anything about his ability to play. Too many external factors at play here and salaries ahead of him. Isiah the coach has been fundamentally at odds with Isiah the GM for a while now.

I seriously doubt Chandler's lack of PT is do to him not bringing it in practice. It has more to do with our crowded roster and playing veterans over rookies. This kid can play. He might not be the next Shawn Marion or Richard Jefferson, but I have seen enough of him to know that he can play. Since he and Q are the only SFs we have that can play defense and hit a jumpshot, I don't see how IT can justify not getting this kid some consistent minutes. It is not just my curiosity I am trying to satisfy. This team needs to make major changes over the next 6 months. We cannot competently make those changes unless we have some idea of what our young guys can do.
