In other words, you're deeply offended about the perceived lack of consistency regarding how David Lee is criticized vs. others. I think a big reason for this is the fact that David Lee is a balanced player and contributes in multiple ways, regardless of whether his shot is falling or not. I'm not sure why you're perceiving this double standard for Lee, because I haven't seen it. People like Lee because of EFFORT: that's quite fair. He puts out more effort than many of the others on this team.
No in other words, you are putting words in my mouth. Solace, if you need to put words in my mouth to have a point, do you really have one?
Lee is balanced? I guess Eddy Curry is balanced too. Lee can only score consistently within 5 feet from the basket and he rebounds well. He can't shoot and his D is awful. I don't see that as balanced. I wouldn't call that multiple ways. I would call that 2 good skills.
You want to see a player who actually contributes in multiple ways? Check Zach Randolph, who is a rebounding beast, can score from anywhere on the floor and demands a double-team, plays better D than Lee, and he averages 2 assists per game while his passing is getting better each game. Oh, but he is called a "stat-whore".
So there is a double-standard. Don't you see Randolph putting forth maximum effort? Why isn't he getting the Lee treatment? When Lee was playing bad, it was Isiah's fault, or the other players fault, or he was injured. In reality, he was out of shape and playing his way into shape.
Yes, that is a double standard. Am I deeply offended? No. But apparently you are deeply offended that I insist on stating a reality-based view of Lee instead of one that is more in line with what Lee's mother might take.
Now, when a generally consistent player has a bad game, I don't go nuts bashing him over the head, just as I don't go nuts assuming certain players have turned the corner after single games. Finally, as for the comparison between Lee and Mardy... Mardy has had a bad season. Lee is still playing at a relatively high level, despite generally getting fewer minutes. I don't see your argument.
As for the Knicks, all I'll say is they're hard to watch. I spend very little time complimenting any player on the team, including David Lee, because as far as I'm concerned, the negatives highly outweigh the positives. Last year I gave Mardy compliments. This year he's been terrible. That's just how it's been.
You're making ths about you. I will remind you that you were the one who called me out, not vice-versa. We were not arguing about anything Collins Vs. Lee or anything else.
In regards to Mardy Collins, let us explore the double standard again: Mardy had a very strong finish to last season and showed some nice capabilities. Collins had knee surgery in the off-season. He sprained his ankle vs. Phoenix very similarly to how Lee did last year.
But Mardy is the worst player in the NBA. Forget the fact that he has been injured for most of the season. He doesn't get the benefit of the doubt and excuses made for him like Lee does, even though he suffered his injury much more recently than Lee, as well as recently undergoing knee surgery. Lee gets excused Mardy gets crapped on. Double standard.
And I am not looking for an argument. Again, you engaged me. Lee is playing well (On offense) recently, he was playing relatively poor before. His play has not equaled wins just like every other player including Randolph, who is better than Lee. I guess to those who want to hold a double-standard for Lee, that equates to he has played at a relatively high-level this season.
