We did do it the day we traded Patrick. I believe we actually got 2 picks for him, but we traded them for the Erick Stricklands, Othella Harrington's and Mark Jacksons of the world.

Isiah doesn't need to do any trades. He's put together a great bunch of guys. He likes the team he has now. It is a much better than we had under Layden. It's just that Larry Brown set us back a year, and then we had injuries.

Isiah just needs to wait for the dust to settle. That's the key. Once the dust settles he can right the ship and get the team back on track.

We can no longer just grab random players thinking that the next guy will turn us around. The job is to aim all our resources at finding superstars. If that means playing the young guys to get a high draft pick, so be it. If that means shedding contracts for draft picks, so be it. In the short term we can fill our squad with hard nosed players only. We should have done this teh day we traded Patrick.

the goal behind my proposals were to add picks & shed salaries pretty much... Wally & Kwame are just fillers to get the deal done that allow us more flexibility... in the meantime they can serve some function while they're here... i like Delonte a lot & like i said, it gets us the flexibility to target a superstar via free agency in '09.

how about Zach & Nate for Wally Z, Delonte West & a future protected pick?

West has plantar fasciitis, but he's a talented young player that i think can really help this team when he's healthy... Wally's contract runs 2 years shorter than Zach's & we could use some perimeter shooting from the SF position... he's always wanted to be a Knick... Zach will add some inside bulk to the Sonics & will improve their starting 5... Nate will be back home in WAS & hopefully will stop being a knucklehead.

Is that in addition to trading Curry? While Curry and Zach may not be ideal, I'm not sure I would trade both of them at this point, cause I think having a post scorer would help (even if they are not the team's star).

Anyway on its own, I really like Delonte West. I think in a post based offense he'd be a good PG.

yeah, i wanna unload both of them at this point & just get the cap flexibility & picks... i'm sick of trying to get Eddy to live up to his potential & Zach's money is a definite killer for our longterm future... in terms of Delonte, i actually think he'd flourish more in a fast paced uptempo system... i think we have some horses that can flourish in that style of play & we'd be adding a good shooter in Wally who would help spread the floor for that type of system also... we'd just need an athletic shotblocker who can start some fastbreaks for us w/his defense (Marcus Camby style player) & a franchise level scorer who can make his own shot when everything else breaks down... i wanna keep D Lee as the starting PF... he's not too shabby working in the post either cuz he can shoot w/both hands equally well, so guys never know where he's gonna go.

I thought you were taking a vacation from the horror story that is the knicks- did that last all of an hour?

would you guys stop egging him on? He was almost gone and BAM, another post about "did you leave yet?"

The only person with trade value is Lee. No one is going to take Zach or Curry.
Bingo. The next GM should buyout Zach and see if you can get a late 1st round/early 2nd round pick in a deal for Eddy without taking anything terrible back in return.

that's way too simplified an assumption... there absolutely is a chance we can unload both those guys & cut some payroll when you're taking back clearly inferior players, which we would be doing in both trades i listed above.

& Bonn, the Curry trade idea to LA is doing exactly what you suggested we do... buying out Zach is not an option at this point.

I would trade Eddy "the tumbler" Curry to Denver along with Nate Robinson for ANOTHER DEPAUL PRODUCT 7ft Steven Hunter(shotblocker defender) who will be back from knee injury by january and J.R Smith who would immeadietly be the teams 3 POINT THREAT.

Let eddy deal with condtioning in the mile high city.

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.
