what boggles my mind:

The 75-0 Celtics can play and develop Big Baby

the 0-75 Knicks can't play Chandler or Balkman any significant minutes.

Because we might play better with those guys, and Isiah the coach is sabotaging the team so he can take Isiah the GM's job.

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wally and Flip give you more hope than Balkman, Lee, Morris and Chandler?

Giving up on those guys to go "all in" on Eddy, Zach and Crawford is desperate and dangerous.

I suggest a moratorium on trades until we have a real GM and coach in place to make sensible evaluations once the toxins are removed.

yea, the virus is starting to kick in around here with some posters, some of the post around here.. LOL...... I mean really, why get rid of the only guys who seem to play hard every night for other teams trash... geez, when enron was exposed, they didn't go after middle managers, they went right to the top..... why can't we do the same?

I gotta figure Dolan was hoping that Isiah's job security was a dark cloud over the team, and that if he gave assurances and settled the harassment suit the cloud would be lifted and the team would unify. I can understand it, management has invested a lot in Isiah and his players, Dolan has to give it every chance to work. But the irony is that the early extension backfired last year, and the assurances have done little so far this year.

I suspect as much as the players love the ice cream parties and all the ways Isiah coddles them, deep down they don't respect him enough. They've seen how he's never gotten a handle on Marbury, who few if any even like. They've seen him never get a handle on a coach, or offer better solutions of his own. They've seen him make trade after trade that only crowds the roster, confuses their roles, and fills none of the voids. At a certain point I think the players want someone who's going to lead or get out of the way, and more and more they may see Isiah as in the way.

But having said all that, it's still inexcusable. Isiah is just the next in a long line of coaches they've checked out on. They realize that winning would require things of themselves that they're just not willing to give, so they wait and wait for someone who can make it easy for them - and we know that person will never come.

Blue, that is so well put, I mentioned this before, that the knicks players, most of them are "check collectors" We all have them at work, they will show up every day, they will actually do enough work to get by, but if ever asked to do their job to the full, they will revolt. That is what these knicks are doing. For some time now, they have been allowed to do what they want, and they collected their checks, now that the shyt has hit the fan and they have to acutally perform, no longer is showing up just enough, these guys have mailed it in..... This has been the case with these guys for a while now....

Great points Blue

Do you think he could have hung himself once and for all when he said:

"This is the year the best people play"
I just hope that people will like me

I fully agree that the only way this season is going to turn around is through a trade. This personnel does not work together and I don't think IT can coach them to .500. We need some different players and might have to take a risk on Artest to try to turn this season around. I just don't believe in the trying to lose to get a high lottery pick. There are only like 3 guys in this draft that are sure fire solid players and there is no guarantee, even with the worst record in the league, that you get a top-3 pick. If we can make a deal to shakeup the roster without taking on longterm contracts, IT needs to make it happen. Addition by substraction might be what the team needs.
