That's part of a building a team. It's not just a collection of good role players and a top 30 NBA player. If you gave me Iverson at 22, sure. If you gave me Iverson at 32, no. Again, Philly has a lot of good surrounding players. I think our current team has the same scenario. If I'm building for a title, I get these good support players and have them support a star. If I don't have a star, the support players are useless. Hence the problems with the Knicks, hence the problem with Philly, as well. The Knicks are even worse because half of their guys who aren't at that top level don't realize that they aren't and try to act and play like they are stars anyway. That adds discord.

In other words, the team that many of us want is that if we're going to lose, let's lose outright, with a bunch of minimum players and pile up picks until we find our player or players to build around. Then add all the supporting players you need to make it work. That's how you build a team. Add Dwight Howard to Philly and it's a great group. Make sense?

P.S.: On a side note, personally, I'd still look to trade Ivy, because I don't think you build around an undersized 2-guard, but that's just me.

Are you insinuating that those like myself are "fake fans" who are "trolls" possibly pretending to be Knick fans just to rain on the parade of optimistic fans like yourself?

Hey, try this: We're all fans here. I seriously doubt a well run site like this has "fake fans" on it allowed to just stir up trouble. We're all Knick fans. Some of us are pessimistic of the Isiah regime and the roster's chance to get it together in general. We want changes.

We're not haters. We're fans who deserve better and realize the team and the architect of it must go in nearly it's entirety if we're ever to witness blood and guts basketball of the 1990s and the early championship Knick teams.

I cannot see how even the most optimistic fan can support this disgraceful insulting mess.

I've officially come to the understanding that the Holfresh's, rvhoss's, misterearl's and nixluva's of the world are NOT lovers. They are pure masochists.
