Briggs: Cleveland does not need cap space and they don't want knight. AS I said Davis is a selfish player and the assists numbers are misleading. And to compare Spree to Smith is ridiculous, just ridiculous!!! Ricky Davis has talent no doubt but he is not what the knicks need especially with Houston at that position, and Davis is not the defensive player spree is to play the SF position.

Ill just say this,spree is 33years old and eroding. We need two thing s desperately on this team--youth /athletiscm and a post. If I couldnt fix the post the way i wanted to I would go in the direction of getting young and athletic. It may be impossible to fix this thing in one year. there has to be a semi-rebuilding--yet there doesnt have to be a non-competitive team. Sprewell is a guy who should be on a team where he is the 3-4 option now. Thats where he will be effective. Davis is 6-7 and 23 years old. Im comparing Davis to a young spree--he blows away the old spree. Spree wil be a bench player when Davis is in his absolute prime. You can equate 21.5 pts 6 assists 5 rebounds and 1.5 steals any way you want,but you have to be a superior talent to put those numbers up on any team in the NBA-especially that young.
EVERY team needs cap space-without cap space your hands are tied in many perspectives regarding transactions. With the 9 pick they can get a big time PG-heck they could bring in Dwayne Wade torun the PG and then catch a FA next year in the 7-8 mm$ range and still stay under the cap.
