Not just 2 games with Philly, but after the Mavs game you have 3 very winning games agains the Sonics, Bulls and Nets, with only hte Bulls game on the Road.

Not saying they have to go 5-1 in this stretch but it really can be done. This is definitely a turning point.

I would like to know where I can get some of these. Not only could I use some for myself, but they seem like great holiday gifts.

Bip: I'm a Knick fan. Of course I'm passionate and emotional about them. Where do I attach emotion and opinion to your thread? Well, when I read it I see a hint of optimism that we (should) beat Philly twice and that'd put us back into the playoff picture, of which is this team's ultimate goal. In that, as I've said, I think it's downright nauseating to think this team would be throwing a parade to hit it's ceiling of 40 wins and a playoff beat down.

Chill Pill? Useless. How about a lifetime supply of vicodin? Maybe that'll ease the pain of reading posts where Curry gets lavished with praise for blocking two shots in one game - or Crawford being commended on a GREAT stretch of games when he's gone 30-76 (39%) over his last five contest - or that beating Philly twice to wind up 8-11 is excellent news. Yeah, Vicodin, maybe laced with Cocaine or Rat Poison. Something like that might do it.

Eny: Yeah, I want my team to do well, which is why I'm ticked off when mediocrity or achieving a goal we all know this team is capable of - and knowing that goal still makes them a crappy team - sets me off. I want half this team wearing cement shoes and the other half used to make it happen.

Only if they do it. What have you seen that leads you to believe they will? If they do we're what 11-12?

I should not be allowed to start threads. You've been posting with me for a while. I can trust you not to sugarcoat things. What am I doing wrong? When I post a thread I think it's going to evolve into this wonderful conversation with thoughtful analysis and keen insight. But in the end they all end the same

Fan 1: "you suck as a fan"
Fan 2: "no you suck"
Bip: "this wasn't my intention"
BJones: "Bip you should be banned"
One of Bips buddies: Bip why do your threads end this way
Fans 1 and 2: Still ranting and raving about who is a fan
Bip: "Woe ways me"
BJones: Joke at Bips expense
Fan 1: Challenges my fanhood
Bip: Gets all macho and gives Fan 1 piece of his mind
Bip: Takes anger out on puke smelling cat
Bip: Returns to computer to see if someone has logged on that can actually improve the quality of his thread
Bip: Sees that quality consists of more ranting, jokes from BJones, laughter from some of Bip's boys, a new jokester like Allanfan, Code or Solace joins the fray
Misterearl: Gives advice, insults or agrees with me. I never know because I can't understand what he is saying
Nixluva: Tells me stuff that I don't understand about the Knicks and what they are achieving
Bip: Goes to main page and hits refresh 75 times hoping that a new thread is started
Bip: Goes to who is online page and sees no one new has joined
Bip: Returns to hit refresh 75 more times
Bip: "sigh"
Bip: Changes Travis' stank filled diaper that has been stanking up the house since he started this ill-fated thread
Bip: Wonders why his son is not potty trained yet
Bip: Decides that maybe it's time to check up on a couple of his clients and maybe improve his business
Bip: 5 minutes later Bip gives up and goes back to UltimateKnicks

It goes back to three things

1.)The Bobo vs. Bip "Tim Duncan is garbage thread"
2.)My "undying" support of Larry Brown
3.)The "what if Marbs and Francis can't work chronicles", otherwise known as THE QUESTION.

Those 3 unfortunate events have ruined my confidence and made me incapable of starting a successful thread.

Bip, THE QUESTION was a crazy time on this forum. I've never felt so villified in my life. I mean honestly who would EVER think the Marbury/Francis backcourt wouldn't work? All I know is every curse word in the book was thrown out during THE QUESTION days.

I'm literally been traumatized by those days. I'm afraid to ask questions now. When my kid's pants stink I'm afraid to ask him if his diaper needs to be changed out of fear that he will call me a Nets fan.

Cosmic chill out. The only one bringing up the words "Support Isiah" are you.

This is still MY team (**** Isiah) and MY entertainment, and I root for them to win every game. Otherwise I might as well not watch, not post, and not care.

Yes, those who are giddy over maybe being 8-11 and maybe fulfilling the dreamy landscape of squeaking into the playoffs only to get our brains beat in by a real team are on board with Isiah Thomas.

Beating the Kidless back-to-back playing Nets - or possibly beating a floundering Philly franchise in back to back games changes absolutely nothing with this team. They are still a poorly constructed mess that needs to be torn down.

I care not to get estatic over a terrible team possibly achieving it's lofty goals of 40 wins and a first round beat down.

the team that was on the floor last night without marbury and curry should be a 8-11 team and we could be happy. Because with that team, i would just ship zach out for some younger pieces andpicks, and then start evaluating the talent we have to see what we need this upcomming lottery. If we happened to stumble in the playoffs playing guys like lee, balkman, morris, chandler, q, and jamal, then good, that gives you something to work with and build upoon, but at least this way, you can identify what your team needs, who is a keeper and who should be dealt while they have some relative value..

If this team makes the playoffs and plays against anyone other than Orlando or Boston we could win a series.

The target has to be the 6 seed.

Only if they do it. What have you seen that leads you to believe they will? If they do we're what 11-12?

There's no reason to believe they will. But we have beaten New Jersey and Chicago this year. We should be able to beat the Sonics. We should be able to beat Philly. We'll probably **** up and only 2-3 or 3-2 in these 5, but if they truly can think about turning the corner- this is a good opportunity. That's all it is.

Well, I recall last season when we had a nice month, maybe it was February and Steph was asked "Has the team turned the corner?". Steph replied (as much as I can remember) "No, winning 10 of 12 or 12 of 15 would be turning the corner."

He's correct and I stand by that assertion today.

Now, another reason I'm not so enthusiastic about winning 4 of 6 is because December has been an opportunistic month, games at home, several of these recent wins against teams in vulnerable positions. Now, you have to take advantage of those situations and we did but we've seen this team do this before so until it's a consistent mark I won't go nuts about it and start thinking Playoffs.

Another thing: As I said December is very optimistic. Looks like we might go anywhere from 6-8 (my pick) to as good as 8-6. 9 Games home, 4 Away. It's very opportunistic for us.

Yet, have you looked at January? January can and probably will equal out whatever good we do in December. So Until I see us with a winning record by the end of January what is there REALLY to get excited about? Why talk playoffs?

Now, one final bit: I sure hope nobody sees 4 out of 6 and believes we're going to now win 40 of the next 60. I say that in jest but this is exactly the type of euphoria mild winning streaks seems to bring out of some fans only to have their hearts crushed by a short losing streak.

So, nah...can't be excited about a mild win streak against an opportunistic schedule. Now, a win streak against a rough schedule? Sure, maybe that'd start to raise some eyebrows.

This is why I'm so pessimistic though. We win 4 of 6 and people want to ignore 6-11 all they can. Curry blocks two shots in one game and people are jumping out of their chairs. Crawful goes 39% over 5 games and people are rushing to praise him like he just had a Michael Jordan type week.

I know why they do it, cause they're SO starved for optimism in a team that's been a disgrace and embarassment and an insult for over six seasons now. Yet, until this team gets it together for a LONG STRETCH of time and against stiff competition including a tough stretch of games why get all excited over winning a few opportunistic games against a couple of floundering opponents during a big home standing month?

I probably repeated myself 8 times in that post but eh whatcha gunna do.

Consider the Zombie team we witnessed on the West Coast and against Boston.

Winning a few games looks like a beach in hawaii compared to that.
