Fun to watch and effective.......
and I have seen live or live on TV. Cousy would be but I was too young. Clyde Phil Ford: The guy was amazing until he got hurt and maybe the best to play the position in college. Bobby Hurley: Two back to back championships and 3 trips to finals! That is an amazing stat. The kid was the QB of that team so he gets the best to play the position in college in my view. Not the fastest, not the quickest, but raw grit, clutch and nutty play for 40 min a nite. I never saw a kid play at that level for that many years with that much heart! He had a hard time dealing with the bigger players in the NBA and who knows if he could have evolved as did nash to the pro game. Remember it took nash a while to adapt. Tiny Archibald-Let the league in assists and scoring. The best NYC point guard ever. Best years were in Kansas City. Jason Kidd Little Stevie Nash Kidd Magic Kevin Porter: He had a few magical years. LIttle dude could dart around the floor, hit the long jumper and flat out pass. Fun to watch. Jared Jordan-Any good hater would inflate this kid to add distain for Isiah. Mad props to Pistol Pete and the BIG O but while they had assist numbers they were combo guards. On my all time team I'd have Oscar starting at the 2 guard with clyde at the point. Clyde is not the best hear but hes my all time favorite player on the knicks so I get to pick them. Magic Johnson might be a better pick but I never got on board that My 2nd unit would be Nash with Pistol Pete. I'd have Kidd but Nash shoots better. That would be a fun combo to watch. |

Bip, that's your favorite Knicks point guard of all time, but you're favorite ever is either Kevin Ollie or El Ahmin, I don't remember his first name. Either that, or Taliq Brown.

Actually Kevin Ollie was the greatest. 5 am everyday he knocked on the door of myself and one of the Walk-ons(Steve Emt) and told us to get our arses out of the bed and work out. I never got a chance to contribute to winning in college but he is the sole reason I was able to go on to a short and embarrassing career after college
I just hope that people will like me

Posted by Allanfan20: Tim Hardaway was a freakin' assassin. I don't know how many times I saw him stop on a dime and pop from like 10 feet behind the arc at a critical point in the game. BANG! |

Hardaway had a great crossover dribble.

Timmy became a bit of a chucker after he got older, but everyone of his chucks seemed to go in against the Knicks. I hated that guy with a passion.

Keep in mind, this is my "favorite" list, so these are guys I can remember seeing. This isn't who I think is the best. It's who I enjoyed watching.
1. Gary Payton - What a beast. In his prime he was one of the best two way players in the league. some one needs to show this tape to Nate. 2. John Stockton - One of the best ever. He didn't get his chip, so he's similar to QB Dan Marino. 3. Jason Kidd - Wow. 4. (edit:) Kevin Johnson - I actually left him off the list and feel like a retard. Phoenix versus Seattle in the 1995 playoffs is something I'd buy if they sold it. 5. (edit:) Mark Price - I forgot him too. AHH! Mark Price on the second Dream Team was a lot of fun to watch. 7. Tim Hardaway - Holy ****, he scared the piss out of me when the KNicks played the Heat. 8. Mark Jackson - Watching him back down any Knicks PG was excruciating when he was on the Pacers. 9. Magic Johnson - The most "vintage" Johnson footage I can actually remember watching was when the Bulls beat them for their first championship. 10a. Isiah Thomas - Same thing, another great player I remember who was on the downslope. 10b. Derek Harper - He's a lot like Larry Johnson in that he was a consummate professional and, always kicked ass when the Knicks needed it most. 10c. Steve Nash - He's good, but I feel like I'm watching a soccer player. Soccer was for the popped collar crowd growing up. I known for throwing an elbow or two on the court. A couple of times I spiked the ball in their face. 10d. Deron Williams - Best court vision I've ever seen. Usually, I can see the play develop from the stands. But When I saw him in Houston his rookie season, I couldn't see the play develop at all. It was sensational. This guy is going to be REALLY good. 10e. Chris Paul - He's awesome too... he is so friggin fast. People think Steve Nash is good, but I think Paul could have the better career because the New Rules favor speedy guards. honorable mention: Andre Miller - One winter break I went to a Devils/Rangers game with a buddy at the Meadowlands and then went to Knicks/Cavs at the Garden immediately there after. Miller put on a show the season he led the league in assists that I'll never forgot. P.S. I don't care if you think I cheated. Certain things aren't debateable
Gary Payton was seriously the best two-way, most durable, toughest, king of trash talking point guards ever. It's a close call for me between he and Magic as my All-Time Fav. A lot people slept on Payton because of Jordan and it's too bad his prime yrs were devastating. Magic was the best showman at this position and probably the most clutch. He also was the best at making great teammates become greater. The greates Champion of them all Stockton best pure point setup man ever Mark Jackson followed Magic and Stockton's lead probably the best point guard that did the most with probably the least amount of abilities. Kevin Johnson was a BuckSaberTooth Beast Of Fire. The best point guard off the dribble and inside the arc Tim Hardaway was the best chucking break your ankles point guard of all-time. Nobody chucked better and from deeper than him Isiah I hated/hate him but he wasn't afraid of any player and is Clucth Jr next to Magic. I would have loved to see him and Payton go at it in their primes Jason Kidd is Ice Cube messes around and gets a Triple Double. Best All-Around Point Guard next to Oscar ever Nash is the best Offensive Point Guard ever in terms of all the important Offensive statistics SS LL is the best midrange scoring point guard ever [Edited by - TrueBlue on 11-28-2007 2:28 PM] LMFAO @ the Bio http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stephon_Marbury

"Bird stole the ball, Bird stole the ball"! WE laughed and laughed as Isiah threw the series away. And I was not a Celtic fan! Marv, is that why he is on your list? |

to me listing him as a favorite would be like listing Reggie Miller or Scottie Pippen.
