His opinion that the team should be torn down is duly noted and correct.

Yet the way he conducted himself was DISGUSTING and will never, EVER, be vindicated.

He got rightfully fired for his disgusting behavior

The players ultimately make the plays and decisions on the court. Even if they hated their coach and felt that Larry had no faith in them; they still should have shown some sort of personal pride and busted their asses everynight. If for nothing else other than a **** you to the coach.

nobody knows what went on behind close doors there, or who quit on who.

I will say in a very long and very impressive career of coaching a lot of different places and a lot of different types of players Larry never "acted" the way he acted with the Knicks.

Meanwhile Marbury has gone through these gyrations with just about each coach he's had. Nate was equally retarded under both Isiah and Larry. Curry is a contract year guy, otherwise he's fat and sloth. The list goes on...

LB isn't vindicated. He is a HOF coach who didn't do what his resume said he should do. He underachieved. As bad as Isiah has been, he did better than LB did in his first year (last year). This year, who knows. Zach has been hurt though, so give it a little time. He is vindicated with Marbury however. The guy is uncoachable. No one can reach him.
We could be the Dallas Mavs of the East.

You gotta study up on your Larry Brown Fish. Larry Brown has been banned from the 2 places he has ever won championships. He has lost every team he ever coached. HIs nick-name was next-town Brown before he ever met Marbury.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

Brown wanted to do what Dolan wold not let him. Or IT for that matter. I agree with Brown 100% on his demands, outside of cutting Marbury and Nate, if ever really demanded such a thing, which I have a hard time believing he did.

He saw the situation for what it was, and was not willing to work within the confines of detremental upper management. On the one hand he was right, but on the other hand, he should have expected the quality of management that he got since he signed up to work with these guys as bad as they might be (Dolan and IT).

I would personally take LB over Dolan and IT any day, but Dolan runs the team because the pays everybody. It really is amazing how poorly sports franchises are run in US, simply from a financial perspective. Makes me wonder if they would not do better hiring a seasoned executive to be president of the team who knows nothing about basketball and let him hire the right people and take the right advice.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

Classic

read this slowly

"I agree with Brown 100% on his demands, outside of cutting Marbury and Nate, if ever really demanded such a thing, which I have a hard time believing he did."

now think about it

what did Larry Brown demand?

Larry Brown was a genius who architected all the Knicks' recent great moves. His most brilliant move was to beg Isiah for Steve Francis, knowing that Francis could some day be traded for Zach Randolph.

The rest, as they say, is history.

Larry Brown acted like a putz and got treated like one... first by his players and then by the guy signing the checks

Marbury has quit on every coach who has ever coached him. To blame any coach for this would be unfair.

In retrospect, I would definitely give any of Don Chaney, Lenny Wilkins or Larry Brown another chance as Knicks coach under a different management scenario where the GM isn't trying to buddy-buddy the players.
