Anyone who is thinking about jumping ship for the Nets- go do it now. The real fans of this team dont want you.

I understand times are tough but a real fan would never switch teams for any reason. I know some of you may be joking, but if youre not- go have fun sitting in the fabulous "Izod center" or whatever its called today.

Also - it doesnt matter if you watch the game on tv or not, unless you have a neilson rating box, no one knows or cares what youre watching.

The only way to make a change around here is to boycot the games for a while. I'm a season ticket holder and my seats are not cheap - but I'd be willing to miss a few games in order to make a point to the ownership. We as true knick fans can sit on these message boards and complain about Dolan all we want, but nothing will ever happen. I think it's time for us fans to take a real hard stand or else nothing will ever change.

Season ticket holders had to return their tickets and demand money back...
Then this may get to Jimmy... But I am not so sure...

I don't know about the others but I have no intention of rooting for anybody else. I'll just stopping watching basketball altogether. The Knicks are not just lousy they are irrelevant. No one gives a hoot about this team except knick fans and most of th real ones would have started doubting themselves by now. Anyone sticking up for this mess is NOT a knicks fan they may be Isiah fans or marbury fans but they are NOT Knick fans.

BS what makes a fan is someone who supports the team through thick and thin. right now things look bleak but they are never as bleak as you think it is. The Knicks have problems but they are fixable problems.

Time to think about Brooklyn Nets?
I think the only power that can discorage Jimmy is fans.
If we will make his club insignificant he may concentrate only on his "Rock" band.

Wishfull thinking... There are too many Nixluvas around to do this...

[Edited by - arkrud on 11-18-2007 10:06 AM]

I'll be trading my Knicks cap in for a Nets cap pretty soon myself.

Well, well, well.

We are all wrong. The buck doesn't stop at Jim Dolan. Now we have to not only get rid of suckbury and Isiah and Dolan, but now we have to get rid of the real problem all along. Charles Dolan. We are totally screwed! Actually, we'll probably end up having to ask for Stern resignation also, before things finally get better. Man oh man! The NBA Executives taking the Knicks fans for a ride, because they know all the suckers are here, in NY. Paying for those seats time after time. They don't give two ****s if we win or not. Just as long as they make their money. That's the real truth behind all of this.
I'll never trust this' team again.

Supporting the team and rooting for the present GM and roster are two separate (and I believe mutually exclusive) ideas.

You want the players to fail so the GM is fired to me to ask for players to fail is just wrong just so you can be happy with the result I find that to be questionable fan.

That's a weak argument you could use to support the status quo under all circumstances (including for example the Layden regime)

I didn't say the problem wasn't fixable, I just don't think it can be fixed by the clowns in charge, because they are the problem.

Rooting for the team and drinking kool aid till you drop dead are not the same thing. Being a blind homer fan does not do anything for the team. When you see sh** like this play out and the people responsible for fixing it are the ones causing the problem and there is no way any one can hold them accountable then you have a situaton which CANNOT be fixed.

A problem like this does not fix itself and there is no reason in my mind to root for it to do so and no reagrdless of how you phrase it, it has nothing to do with being a true fan. You want the problem fixed then you need to get rid of about the entire leadership and more than half the players. And when it comes to that level, you are better of just moving on.

"Jim's going to continue to hold the power and whoever he brings in is going to have to kowtow to him," said a league source. "He won't give people total control. A guy like Jerry Colangelo will tell Jimmy to stay in his suite and stay out of his way because he's running things. But Jimmy would never agree to that. It's more important for him to be the man than it is to win. Winning is not the most important thing for Jim. If it was, he wouldn't have hired Isiah."

That's an important quote. Depressing.

Which also gives credence to the fact I SAY UGH has never been working under a win or else ultimatum from Dolan at least not up until now. It may be growing by the day now. MSG/The Garden is still making money regardless of how much we lose which is staggering. Dolan has never came out publicly since I SAY UGH has been here and made a statement that it's very important for this team to make the playoffs. And although this franchise is receiving a ton of negative publicity and Dolan doesn't like it, one thing he probably hangs his hat on at the end of the day is that his franchise is the center of attention next to the Yankees, I'd say. I think I SAY UGH is working under his own merit/standard and to him it's important that the team makes the playoffs, but to Dolan it's thirdary or maybe fourthdary.

I still wonder what UGH means? If what was said about Dolan is true, then Isiah's been had from the beginning and Dolan is truely the problem. Maybe his pops is the real problem, seeing that he told Stern that Jim's not going anywhere.
I'll never trust this' team again.

This is close to how I feel. I don't think I'd become a fan of another team, but I might still watch some games for entertainment. But maybe not Knicks games. I think helping the tv ratings tank is probably the only thing I can do.

Duh, we all just venting here. The garden must die again for it to change.

What scares me is how happy most were with the isiah starphuch to replace dolan and I had this thought which keeps nagging at me:

could it get worse before it gets better?

Did we all think the LB disaster what not the lowppoint?
Could anyone even imagine the Anucha trail even happening yet alone turn into the media disaster? you can't write a worse ending for that trail? I think we should be happy there was no murder commited?

Even as Marbury got silly, he at least the movment had some percieved merit? Then He danced his one on the beck show and really got it going this summer in the trail! Who dances out of a courtroom after admitting what he did?

So what is next?

Be afraid, be very afraid.

There are too many Knicks lovers out there to do that. I am a Knicks lover but I don't like whats happening to my team. As I said before we need a franchise player and lets face it Kobe ain't coming to New York. I say stay the course and if we win only 20 games or so we will have a high pick in the lottery. It is the only way we can seal our future. Getting rid of Zeke and bringing in someone else will only be putting salt on the wound. So we win 33 games it gives us less chance of us getting a franchise player. Zeke picked up some very athletic players but you not only have to be a good player you must be a smart player. To see the Knicks over and over again make the same mistakes on defense tells me that they are not paying attention.
Hey New York is a rough town and It never sleeps. I heard that the majority of the Knicks players frequent certain clubs around town and should be at home getting some rest. This team looses games in the last 5 min of a game because they are not intelegent players they doing the same mistakes over and over again. Zeke picked this team and only he can lead us to the lottery franchise player. If we get another coach we just might win 5 - 10 more games and then we will be stuck. No franchise player and no playoff hopes. The damage is done and no one can come in this season to fix it. Zeke must now show what he is made of.

Wow, what a turnabout.

Just curious, do you have anything to say to the "hatters" you were so distasteful towards simply because they saw this all before you did?

If I read you correctly, you're suggesting that we should stay the course with Isiah and Marbury - oops, "Zeke and Marbs" - because they are SOOO atrocious they can guarantee us a high lottery pick.

I disagree. Those guys guarantee nothing but bad press, bad Kharma, and continued humiliation. But in terms of on-court play and wins/losses, them trying desperately to redeem themselves and salvage their image, I'd predict a lot of wild streaks, wild mood swings...another roller coaster ride...no telling where we'd end up.

The way to really guarantee a high pick is to send them packing now and appoint a new GM that has nothing at stake in winning with this group. He'll dictate to the interim GM to let the players nurse their injuries and he'll give the youth a lot of burn.

That is the best way to start the disinfection process, while healing our vets, nurturing the youth and bettering our odds in the lottery. It's win-win.

Blue, I believe poopybear is finally coming to the realization that "young and athletic" is just that, young and athletic. You know, lots of high school kids are young and athletic too, doesn't mean they can win you games...in any sport.
