We are talking about NY type of basketball, right? Then:

PF: Kevin Garnett
SF: Renaldo Balkman
C : Marcus Camby
SG: Dwane Wade
PG: Kirk Hinrich

Thats a great defensive team anchored by its franchise players: Garnett and Wade

Right now, I would be happy with this:

PF: Zach Randolph
SF: Renaldo Balkman
C : Samuel Dalembert
SG: Martell Webster
PG: Jameer Nelson

Make that:

PF: David Lee

Zach is Crawford at PF...

Lots of un realistic starting fives out there. So is the message to MSG that the fans actually want to starphuch?

Pf: zach
Sf: stephen jax
C : camby
Pg: andre miller
Sg: richard hamilton

Zach could work it inside. Camby could float and stick those outside jumpers. Andre miller runs this show with richard hamilton taking what is given to him. Jax fills in the pieces. The pride of these players would be strong and I think the personalities all mesh. Who is the leader? They all are leaders. The defense would be superb and the overall passing and running game would be great. I think this team could go far.

Give me a team like this and I would be so happy.

The current knicks need collins to grow up early and to some how make a trade for an athletic 3 that could score and defend. Marbs and Q are terrible.

Dre is a very underrated PG when he's on.

The assist leaders the past 5 years have belonged to Jason Kidd and Steve Nash. The only guy to beat them out once was Dre in '02.

I'd take Reggie Evans and him for Z-Bo anyday.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

I hear that.

Andre is my pick as well......

Ok so who is his back court mate? Name the shooting guard!

I can deal with raja......toughness, defense, outside shooting, athetisism. Any other bright ideas?

Should we go for more offense? Here or save it for another position?

Andre Miller
Eric Gordon (Isiah won't let us tank; but he's compared to Mitch Richmond)
Balkman
Lee
Curry

I figure that'll work for the time being. Andre is the best lob passer in the league. Having him and Crawford (the 2nd best lob passer in the NBA) will will make Curry look better than he is to potential suitors...

I personally like the idea of having an above average ballhandler at the 2. If Craw could learn to be more patient with his shot selection and move is feet on defense he would be awesome to pair with andre miller. Andre is the anti marbury.

As far as artest? The dude can defend everyone on the court. His passing and ball handling is nice for a forward. His outside touch is nice as well. He doesn't get a lot of rebounds but he proved to be stronger than lee to the rebound when it counted. I think stephen jackson is very similiar. Too bad both dudes are some crazy bastards.

Zach is fine. With better talent he wouldn't get converged on as much.

Brad miller is a tough dude as well. He is a good rebounder, passer and jumpshooter. Won't block shots but he knows how to protect the basket and defend the post.

I thought my lineup was splendid. You have 1 superstar in Stouds and he can be your go to guy in the post. You got your 2nd tier all star in Artest. You have the shooter who is young and cheap and can score when needed. You have your veteran leader who will come cheap and will do whatever you need and you got a shotblocker, just in case the backcourt defense doesn't seem to click, even though they bust it.

Realistic, but also a winning lineup.

Generally, we need players who play well on both sides of the court. Right now we have too many specialists.

lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.
