Hindsight is obviously 20/20. But I was looking at it the other day and if we didn't make the Steph and Curry trades we'd have had a chance at drafting Josh Smith, Brandon Roy and Joakim Noah or Acie Law. The pieces to make the Craw and Randolph trades were already in place.

PG- Crawford-Nate-Collins
SG- Roy-Q
SF- Smith-Balkman-Chandler
PF- Randolph-Lee
C- Noah-Morris

None of those players over 27.

ur right, CHI traded down for TT... my bad.

Aldridge is a very nice player, & i would love to have him on the Knicks right now, but i have to think the risk was worth taking when Isiah made that deal... really who would have thought this team would have tanked so badly under LB that year after making those trades to upgrade the roster? did you? i sure didn't... it obviously hasn't panned out the way we would have hoped... i can't blame him for doing it though.

No I admit I didn't. But then I am not a professional GM. However, Briggs warned us all immediately.
He killed IT for not protecting those picks. I should hope that the guy running our team knows more than a bunch of cyber-GMs. But apparently he doesn't.

BRIGGS also wanted pretty badly to go after Shareef Abdur Rahim, Tiago Splitter & Darius Miles & said Andrew Bogut & Darko Milicic would be franchise calibre talents... everyone is wrong at some point or another... i've been wrong plenty of times as i'm sure you have too... i'm not arguing w/u the bad results of the trade, only that i can understand why Isiah took the risk & made the deal when he did... i'm still not sure how anyone here can speak from any position of authority that the picks could have been protected & still made the deal when both Paxson & Isiah have publically made it clear that the deal wouldn't have been made w/o it... is it possible that they were just saying it to save face? sure it is, but to assume we coulda made the deal w/o those picks being unprotected is a reach at best.

u know me bro, i don't defend Isiah unless i think it's absolutely warranted... i can't blame him for making the Curry deal when he did... those of you who never believed in Curry's talent to begin with are justified in disagreeing w/me on that obviously.
