These are some of my observations. No hysterics or overreactions are needed after just 7 games. We've blown some games that we clearly could've won. The team needs to get back on track and refocused on what they need to do in each game to win. They've clearly gotten off track as far as their mental approach to the games and how they need to play to succeed.

Curry and Zach to me looks good overall. Add in Lee and we're good. I don't see them as our problem. Most of our problems are on the perimeter. The things that concern me more are getting Mardy healthy and into the starting lineup for the rest of the year. I want to see if he can grow into the position. We know his D is superior and would help us a lot. He's solid in running the offense and of course needs work on his shot. Without Mardy, we're gonna be left to play Steph more and I can't tell you how unfortunate it was that Mardy got hurt. In the longterm tho, I can see him having a positive effect on the team. So many have been looking for a Eric Snow type and why can't Mardy be that guy?

I also want to see Jamal get back to attacking the defense like he was. His FG% improved cuz he was attacking the basket more aggressively. For whatever reason he got away from that and he's been hesitating and dancing on the perimeter, which has led to him carrying the ball and turning it over.

I think Zach's been falling in love with the jumper a bit too much, but I believe he'll get that under control. Most of the time players end up being what they've proved to be over their careers. He strikes me as a guy that will eventually get back up to his usual FG %.

Lee hasn't gotten his usual minutes and for me he's not been as good as he was last year overall. This could easily be just a normal up and down that you see in any season. I fully expect him to get his game together and he'll start getting more minutes. The thing is we need BOTH Lee and Zach and there's no reason why Zach has to play so many minutes with Lee around. Over the course of a season things will even out.

Isiah needs to improve his use of the roster. I think he had that in mind until Mardy and Balk got hurt, but I'd like to see him use Chan and Morris when there's an opportunity that screams for them to be used. No more Malik and limit Jared's minutes. There's really not that much that we need to correct. Take better shots and make shots. Play hard on D. Cut down the TO's and get healthy.

Classic nixluva. The team is in turmoil, and here he is with all his coulds, shoulds, and i expects.
Give us a break already. Do you realize how many of your "expectations" have been shot the last 3 years?

I especially like "the team has gotten off track"! Are you for real? What track? The track to 33 wins? What track were they on? Come on, brother.

Wow, that's an impressive analysis of his post.

Yep he's famous for the "what could happen". Also none of his dreams about this team's future are unheralded. This team really can't be any worse and the only direction they can go is up, now how much is very debatable but he needs to ESS-TEE-EFF-UUU, take his skirt off, and put the mother F'N Pom-Poms down.

"i think as long as we start winning some games, we'll be OK."

thanks for stating the obvious bro, but it's been pretty clear that this team has some deep rooted issues that aren't fixable by merely these guys "trying harder to play better" like you seem to be suggesting... these guys are what they are, a bunch of mismatching parts that don't fit together... as soon as you start addressing that & removing some parts that don't fit & replace them with parts that do, then you'll start seeing some positive results... until then, just expect more of the same that we've been seeing for the past 6 years.

I'm a luva and really don't see the optimism...Some wins have to come fast...This product has become unwatchable...Something has to be done and fast...Marbury and/or Zeke has to go as of this moment...Both guys no longer has any creditability, assuming they had any to begin with...Marbury has to go now...Zeke keeping his job thru the end of the season is debatable...

Part of the deal of being a fan is liking what you see...There is nothing to like out on the court right now...Dolan has to act soon....

HATER! You obviously don't want this team to win and are not a true fan.

I think to a large degree that i'm misunderstood. For one thing let's get this straight, I root for the Jersey. I'm a NY Knicks fan before anything else. I don't put Isiah or Steph before my allegiance to the team. I support them being successful while they're here and part of the team. I'm not yet convinced that this is unsalvageable.

I haven't changed my opinion of what I expect this team to do this year, after a 4 game losing streak. It's gonna take a lot more losing before I would reach the point where I lose faith in this group. A few of the losses were close enough that I believe this team will win games like that later when all of this current tumoil dies down. Eventually things will get back to being about BB and we'll get Zach, Mardy and Balk back. For these reasons I feel it's premature to give up on this team.

The thing is that i'm not hating on the whole team just becaue Isiah or Steph messes things up. It seems that there's a movement now to make it seem like Zach, Curry, Lee etc all stink and the team needs to be blown up. I don't agree with that. You put the right PG at the head of this group and I think we win games. At this point it seems Steph isn't that guy and Isiah seems to be acknowledging that now. So we were going to go with Mardy and see how that worked, but he got injured. I'm hoping he can get back soon so we can see what kind of difference he'd make. I want to see what kind of difference that would make myself. Not for 1 game but over a good stretch of games.

speaking for myself, i don't consider u an unreasonable fan... u just take the optimistic approach, nothing wrong w/that... there were times over the offseason when u took ur share of digs at other posters here for venting their dismay & frustration over this team & questioned their fandom tho, u gotta admit (i'm not only talking about the obvious ones)... hopefully now u see what some of us were complaining about.

I know you're an optimist but what is it going to take for you to believe that Isiah/Steph are unsalvageable. The events of this past week were definitely enough to dampen the spirits of any clear thinking optimist. You're even seeing holfresh and misterearl express some dismay here. It's pretty bad.

holfresh is just misguided while misterearl is simply a phony.

nixluva is an eternal optimist but he's showing some serious cracks the last few days. Man am I glad that he came back last week. Just in time.

Here's the problem. When you're wrong, you won't turn around and say, you guys were right, it was unsalvagable. You'll just spin it somehow.

You are the master at spinning any situation with a smile. You're like the Vanna White of UltimateKnicks.com. Sometimes you just make me want to kick a labrador retriever.
