I thought it was against company policy to air out things to the press? I'm pretty sure that telling the press that Marbury was AWOL is a no-no.

Isn't that a dismissable offense? Isn't that what they fired LB for?

I've been one of Steph biggest supporters, but when you go against the TEAM, that's the line in the sand.

That's right Nixluva! That's why you're a legit lover- not a blind one.
If you are still following the team and reading sites like this, there is nothing, short of your own demise, that is going to throw you off this train.

The way I see it this team is not just Steph and Jamal. You have to look at the future of this team and what pieces we need to make this a contender. This is why I don't agree with the blow it up "hater" take on this team. You look at teams like Cleveland and they don't have a better team, they've got one great player and a bunch of so so guys. Here we've got a lot of good young talent, but some vets that aren't producing the results we need. So we can start to phase them out and go with our promising young players and see what we've got. It's the smart thing to do at this point.

If those vets like Francis or Steph don't like it so what? The important thing is the advancement of the team. I could care less about bruised egos. If your not with me then your against me! Let Steph have his cry at home and when he comes to his senses, he might not be needed anymore. For the good of the team that would be the best case scenario. I've been one of Steph biggest supporters, but when you go against the TEAM, that's the line in the sand.

Please don't minimize the importance of having "one great player" on your team. There are the haves, and the have nots, and the haves compete for titles, and the have nots don't. Lebron is not just a "great player" he is elite. Top 5 in the game. We don't even have a top 25 player. Your dismissal of the importance of "one great player" shows that you haven't been paying attention to how you win in this league.

I think I SAY UGH is trying to blow this thing up so big that he can use yet another excuse for the yr that the personnel undermined him. The statement made by him about "I go through this every November with Marbury" was completely uneccessary and shows his true intent behind all of this. Now Marbury deserves it because he's a complete jerk-off but I SAY UGH is a Slease and a Snake and he's only concerned about himself in all of this.

I wonder if I SAY UGH was told by Dolan to bench him?

According to several sources besides the post, Steph got permisson to leave after he talked to Isiah (we all know that).

But after that according to sources Isiah and the organization decided to put out a story saying Steph went AWOL even though he got permission.

Michael Kay is ripping through Isiah and the Knicks right now.

From the way it is going, Isiah is trying to make Steph look like the bad guy with this AWOL story even though he got permission to leave.

So wait- why did Marbury need to leave the team? Death in the family? Birth of child? lost cat?

Maybe he has to give some sneakers away?

What and why did Marbury get permission to leave the team?

Maybe because his feelings are hurt? Oh, my, poor dear. His sense of overinflated self importance crushed because Isiah wants him to come off the bench.

He may have permission to be away from the team, but that doesn't mean he isn't AWOL from his responsibilities.

and who are the sources that are saying that isiah is putting this out? Marbury?

No- most likely the truth is there was a major league flare up on the team flight and players told spouses, friends, agents in the normal course of biz and that stuff made it to the press.

Franco I believe you've hit the nail right on the head there, why does he need to be away from the team knowing Zach is away because the death of his grandmother, knowing Nate is hurt, after losing a winnable game and at the start of the west coast trip. Permission or not, it is inexcusable.

I know I created a huge run-on sentence

This is crazy. Isiah has a TEAM to be worried about. If Steph asks to leave that isn't a coach thing, that's a player putting himself before the team. I don't care if Isiah did put this out there. What else is he supposed to do when they take the floor and Steph isn't there? He's got to explain why.

No single person is above the team. In this case Isiah is trying to win games and he's obviously looking to make changes that will improve the D, so how can he be the person in the wrong in this case?
Have even you come around yet to the conclusion giving up all those draft picks, players, and expiring contracts for Marbury and Penny was VERY bad?

All day we've heard from high level Knicks sources that Marbury didn't have permission to leave the team. Now they're saying they don't want to answer that after Marbury made it known that he did have permission. What a bunch of scumbags.
