i don't see why any team would want to trade for Stephon Marbury & bring embarassment to their organization & potential lockerroom conflicts in the process, especially w/that horrendous contract he's set to make until 2009.

even if i were DEN, why would i make that deal? they already have a guy in Iverson who is twice the player Marbury is signed to a big contract until 2009 as well, & like u said, they already have enough ball hogs on their roster... i don't see how it could play out... also do u really think George Karl is gonna want any part of having to deal with Isiah's boy?


i think SAC is the only remote possibility of trading Marbury, & even that is a fat chance at best... we'd have to throw in something good in the mix like Balk or D Lee to have a shot at making it happen, & i'm not willing to do that just to unload Marbury... i'd rather they phase him out or offer him a buyout than give up 1 of our best young players to get rid of him.

The Knicks did the same thing with Sprewell, lets make it public what a problem the guy is and kill any value he may have, which is nothing right now but keep it in house.

I think a trade to the kings would work:

Marbury (1yr left) & Balkman

for

Bibby (1yr left) & Artest

This franchise simply has to learn to let bad contracts come off the books. Buyout Boyoutbury and go with what you've got. Losing him is addition by subtraction. Losing youth in the process is simply subtraction.

Yeah, its hard enough thinking of teams that would look to sign Steph as a FA. There is no way in hell anyone will trade for him.

My best guess is Marbury for a bag of beans.

That's probably about market value after this fiasco.

btw - I still support all he's done in other areas to help others (not including MSG interns).

why give up Balkman just to unload Marbury? Bibby & Artest ain't leading this team anywhere either... if u can get Artest on the cheap, sure u take a risk on him, but no way would i ever give up Balkman when Artest is such a powderkeg in his own right.

Yeah, maybe we can get the Green Giant to be our backup center. Sounds more realistic than seeing Jerome James in a Knick uniform anytime soon.
