I follow atlanta and I think marvin williams is going to break out this year, but they just don't have perimeter shooting or a post game, so they will run hot and cold as a team. They did beat dallas and the suns at home and that is big, but Dallas didn't have Josh Howard and the suns no amare, but hey, that is not the Hawks fault. I think they will be a good team this year, but they are a couple of players away from a playoff team IMO... preferably a good passing PG, a center and another shooter..

I actually think ATL needs a young shooter to play PG, like Leandro Barbosa, because Johnson is their playmaker/distributor.

the rookie Acie Law might be that guy

I am not sold on him, never was, that cat played in two games and didn't have an assist, not 1.. and he is their PG...

Do you think Hortford is out of position at Center? Or can he pull it off like Amare from the Suns?

yea, I think he is, he is a little shorter than I think they have him listed as, and amare is just a beast, amare is stronger, quicker and a much better athlete, that helps him play that center position, but amare can run the floor like a deer....

Barbosa would be great for them, but there are no barbosa's out there. I think a guy like luke ridnour would be a nice fit. Slick passer, can hit the jumper and push the ball....

I think Horford already has better instincts that eddy at the position is strong on defense can rebound the ball and block some shots. They would be really tough to beat had they not taken sheldon williams last year

It's funny. My "tank or die" thread didn't go over well; yet some guys admit a 1st year player like Horford is alreay better at 2/3 the game than Curry.

Who we could've gotten by.........ya that's right tanking. (without the curry trade)
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

He might not have that mant assist 4 for the season , but tell me this what other rookie is shooting 54% from the field and from the backcourt.

Is Mike Conley doing better NO. Give Acie Law some time, joe johnson still hogs the rock in Atlanta.

I said a couple of weeks ago that Atlanta would have 1 more bad year before they broke out and became a very good team in the very near future. I still don't think that they'll break out this year but they may not be that bad with a shot at competing for a playoff berth until the very end. They have some very good players with high ceilings. Joe Johnson is already there.

as good as Joe Johnson is, when you look at the #'s this year, Jamal's are better.

Real teams don't tank. The game isn't played that way.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

Tell that to the Spurs. They won 4 championships, and counting, by tanking.

Slight, slight edge to the Hawks, since they just beat the Suns.

I'd be ASTONISHED if that held up by the end of the season, or actually by the end of the month.

You know who's playing well? The Nets. I don't know how long the big 3 are gonna stay healthy, but they look pretty good playing together right now. Wright, Nachbar and Magloire give em a pretty decent bench for the first time in a while.

I'd trade Zach Randolph and Eddy Curry for Josh Smith.

He's averaging 4 BLOCK AND 3 STEALS.

DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Well technically they had legit reasons to shut down for the season cos the Admiral was out for the season, and I think Sean Eliott was hurt as well. Boston, which did tank intentioally, had the most number of lottery balls, but suprise suprise didnt finish with Tim Duncan. Call it karma, but the team that intentionally tank didnt get the biggest prize.

Taking the past few seasons into account, no question the Bulls. Judgement is still out on the Knicks.
