Very encouraging. We had a strong fourth quarter comeback against a good team. Curry played sound basketball and Balkman brought his own brand of intensity.

Very encouraging. Balkman starting is VITAL to our playoff hopes.

Alan Hahn thinks differently and I kinda agree with him:

http://weblogs.newsday.com/sports/basketball/knicks/blog/2007/11/blood_boards_and_balkman.html

IF Q deteriorates than start Balk, but only then.

Energy off the bench is overrated. What's wrong with energy to start the game? The argument that Balkman might be too erratic to have that kind of performance every night is also just speculation. How do we know that untill he starts. He seems to bring it pretty often. Balkman does so much to cover up the deficiencies of Zach/Eddy defensively. The way too make that combo work is having Balk there with them.

Whether he starts or not, if Balkman keeps playing like this, he'll see major minutes.

My only concern with starting Balkman is that there's a huge risk that he gets into foul trouble early. As long as he's getting the minutes, what does it matter what shift he plays? If anything, the latter segments of the game are more important.

If our team goes down by 20 in the first w/o Balk then even if he was in the lineup I'm not sure how much he would have helped.

we beat a quality team that can score and we outscored them, we also executed down the stretch and got great defense from balk and curry. The guards played well and our bigs dominated a DPOY..

Encouraging win...

It sucks to be constantly playing from behind. The NBA game is a game of runs, but playing from behind expends a lot of energy.

I percieve this post 1000 times more boring than the super fun live from section 404 posts.

If you are still following the team and reading sites like this, there is nothing, short of your own demise, that is going to throw you off this train.

what I take out of this is that the Knicks look like a real NBA team for the first time in a couple of years

The defense is so bad its scary sometimes, but at least there are flashes of it working now
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

encouraging... performing at a high level in the clutch against a playoff team is exactly the type of game I wanted to see from this team

Probably some smart ass who thinks it's funny. I can't imagine what kind of perverted freak would do something like that to a serious and important poll like this.

Let's look at the bright side. If we can crack 40 wins this season, then Isiah will stick around for next season.

What was encourging was the effort to pass the ball more by the whole team. Thats the difference between us being an inconsistant offense and an efficient offense. Its what we complained about the first 2 games and they showed how successfull they could be when they create for each other rather than themselves, even Randolph & Curry. Marbury & Crawford demonstrated the way they should play offensively. Playmaking and creating shots for the bigs.

metra - that is so tired. Who cares about Isiah more than the development, cohesion and (hopeful) success of the players wearing the Knicks uniform?

you may now return to your regularly scheduled bitching and moaning.

Encouraging.

While the Nuggets aren't a top team in the league, they are a very good team with 2 lethal scorers. This was a game the Knicks HAD to win at home if they wanted to show people that they can play with the big boys and they did. Zach played outstanding, Eddy did some things we know he can do but rarely consistently and Jamal continued his progress. And oh yeah.. Balkman was just a nut out there, creating havoc left and right. These things encourage me.

I was still pretty disturbed with the defense(or lackthere of) in the 1st half but the win overshadows all. The perimeter defense HAS HAS HAS HAS HAS to get better for this team to make some real noise.
