Nate and his hammy have little to do with whether we land better starters.

Now you're getting it...
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

boobs I'm glad you can make an evaluation of nate after 2 games.Players do improve in their careers. BTW no need to respond- you can hit the ignore button.
fishmike 9/27/2024 11:00 PM Ug I hate this. The idea of Towns is great until you see what a pussy he is. Jules is a dog. DD was a flamethrower locked up cheap for 3 more years. First Leon move I hate

BigRedDog - woof

New Nate's inside dish to Lee was a thing of beauty and was a game-changer.

My prediction is that every post that does not end with "x player is the greatest" will turn into a post about who is the better fan.

Personally I think Nate is playing some solid ball right now. He will need to keep this up for more than 2 games to make a true judgement, but I can't knock his importance right now. HE is a definite spark plug and has made an immediate impact in both games the moment he took the floor.

Bobss3304: I disagree with your assessment of Nate, but I still think you are a fan. I just thought it was important that I told you that.

^ Thanks.

I like Nate, I just wish we had a better team.

I'm not a hater; I wouldn't mind keeping Curry, as I've said. It's players like Z-Bo, Marbury, and Artest that we need to stay away from at all costs.

Not only are they distractions, but they think they're franchise players. Which is not good.

These guys all have a lot to prove. There are reasons why they aren't universally accepted. It's up to them to get the job done and change the perceptions. I personally am having a real hard time rooting for some of the individual players on this team but am hoping that over the course of the year they can make it easier for me. In the meantime I understand where you are coming from.

^ When people say "winning cures all"; well wins just don't appear out of nowhere.

The players it takes to win; WHO THEY ARE as people matters. The type of person they are directly effects wins.

Is he a hard worker? Stable? Happy? Selfless? Not egotistical?

So before you simply throw out some euphamism like "winning cures all", just remember that something like that has been decided already when you look at the personell.

This team is not made up of championship-caliber characters, let alone playoffs.

It's a very egotistical team that has a hard time working together. It's an undisciplined bunch. Some of them are good guys, some aren't. But as far as "winning" goes, the proof is already in the pudding...

bobs - where did Zach mention being a franchise player?

He's the best power forward the Knicks have had since...(insert name here)

Hey I'm not disagreeing with you. part of the reason I have a hard time rooting for this team is that many of the players lack some of the personality traits that champions tend to have. But I still will sit back and hope that maybe one day.

Regardless, I know we still need to make changes and new leaders need to be developed or acquired

bobs - and I wish I had Ciara's digits.

Growth can be measured in New Nate-sized baby steps.

Let's enjoy the inevitable speed bumps as they instigate instant panic, crying in the streets and a fake Greek chorus of "I told you so's".

Leaders are Made and not born

Guard - a Chris Paul clone or Newer (and Improved) Nate in 2008)... tbd

Guard - tbd (Mardy Collins, with fingers crossed ) by the way... Jamal is fearless... deep breath

Forward - (Balkman, by example) The Mayor ("and a child shall lead them") ... check

Big Forward - (Zach with qualifiers of consistency and model citizenry) DLee... check

Center - (Eddy Curry does not suck) Randolph Morris with a fire in his belly... 08 draft pick... tbd

btw, bobs, check Nate's stats. He's not turning the ball over in the two reg season games, as well as the pre-season games he shined.

Let's say I pay attention to what players say, to what they do, to how they behave.

Ron Artest, Zach Randolph, Steve Francis, Stephon Marbury......

Guys who THINK they're franchise players, when they're anything but.

Ironic that Isiah acquired 3 of those guys. And Artest is bound to end up here...

bobs - what about Zach's actions or behavior lend you to draw the conclusioin he thinks he is a franchise player?

Last night, while one paper cited a good game by him, Zach felt he didn't play that well.

That doesn't sound like an oversized ego to me.
