Thats exactly the point, the knicks are a very dumb basketball team with the exception of collins, lee and balkman who have a good feel for the game. We have the highest payroll in the NBA, no ****ing excuses, your pf is making 17mil your pg is making 20, jamal, 9, Q 8, Eddy 10.

Isiah can scream about where the franchise was when he took over but where are we in the conference.

Are we a better team than the Atlanta Hawks? The answer is no! I'll take Horford over Curry, and JJ over anyone on this roster and that doesn't include Josh Smith.

If your saying be patient, lets bring up the fact we couldn't guard the bobcats last year and we are going to stop Felton, Richardosn, and Wallace. Telfair and McCants were going by our guards no problem last night it's a huge concern, so a little defense, and team ball goes along way. Isiah needs to actually coach instead of praying crawford is hot when he is dicking around with the ball for half the clock

I'm inbetween unsure and discouraged.

This team has GOT to play better defense on the perimeter, it's an absolute joke what I'm seeing out there from our guards. The T'Wolves are a young team who will play hard, take some dumb shots and not play a whole bunch of defense (aside from Al Jefferson and Theo Ratliff, who is 90) and the fact that we had trouble beating them worries me.

I'm also unsure because I still see absolutely no chemistry between Zach and Eddy. Right now they are both out there feeling there way, but I can see a storm brewing. Zach takes some pretty awful shots but rebounds really well and Curry takes good shots and rebounds poorly. Sooner or later I think that whole thing is going to blow up.

We'll see how good the Knicks are when they play Denver.

Ok pal thats bull****, defense comes with hustle. A win is a win, but either you can play defense and you can't.

Question, what is the only thing that Daniel Gibson can do?

Hit any open jumper, and the knicks for some reason after he already made a number of threes can't defend the line.

It's not being familiar it's being smart; the knicks always double down for what reason i don't know, and leave the three open.

Marbury is a disgrace on defense he isn't even looking to see where his man is, eddy, jamal, and zach there is a reason we are not going to blow out teams, because the guards don't guard and the bigs can't close.

Defense is going to be improved when balkman is on the floor, who i thought was terrifice at challenging shots and shots hedging down to make things uncomfortable on post players. Nate is going to make some nice defensive plays and the same goes for Mardy when he is healthy. Chandler has a long way to go on the defensive end but at least his body is made for defense. The team is only going places if the necessary players get the time the need to glue it all together.

And the one on one play needs to end, it was disgusting to watch, zach shoots everytime he gets it, double or triple teamed, these guys need to swing the ball around and look for the open man. If they do that and actually put fourth the effort we can be a .500 ball club who might even be able to steal a round

I agree with this assessment, it's one of those things where you give the right guys time and the team will start winning. Problem is we have players making a boat load and to bench them would cause all kinds of locker room problems. what a pickle.

A win is a win. Barely beating a team that gutted and stripped bare isn't very encouraging but it's still a win.

I agree with what you said dj about seeing this scene playout too many times before.

Matter of fact I think the T-Wolves would have won if Al Jefferson was inserted back into the game earlier in the 4rth and they went to him as the go to guy.

first unit goes down to the opposing team's first unit. 2nd unit re-energizes the team and brings them back. then it comes down to the wire where nobody can stop nobody and hope crawford can take over. i've seen this game many times over the past 12 months.

That's how I see it too.

Jamal seems to be playing closer to the rim this year, which I'm very happy to see, last year the 3-pointer was his weapon of choice. In a season that we won 33 games, giving us a .402 win percentage, we went 14-8 for a .636 percentage when Jamal shot .340+ from 3-point land.

The point being, we do well when Jamal is hot, and poor when he's not. I was told he shot 55% last night. How many games a year can we count on a career .400 shooter shooting .550?

i made the same remark to kam during the 4th about jefferson not in the game. secondly, when he was in the game, he was posting up asking for the ball but they didn't give it to him...didn't make sense.

I agree that this should be a good test game. The Cavs were at home and I think we underestimated the T-wolves, but Denver is clearly a tough team and we get them at home. How we perform Tuesday will be a good indication of where this team is at.

Thats a good point game; about underestimating the Wolves.....

But again, why do a bunch of career losers have the right to underestimate anyone, thats why this team doesn't make the playoffs because they feel like they are owed something, they talk about unfair home court treatment, everything thats going against them, just play hard and win

That Denver game is going to be tough, they just have so many pieces on their roster. They have a boatload of scoring in AI, Melo, JR Smith, they have Defense in Camby, Martin, Nene. I guess the only thing you can really question them on is their bench, right now they are only 7deep in their rotation with Najera and Nene coming off the bench, but those are two pretty good bench guys.

Knicks are home, so that should help but the Nuggets just have too many good perimeter players, which guess what, is the Knicks biggest problem. I dont know.. it's going to be real tough and the Nuggets probably aren't even a top5 or 6 team out West.

I think this is going to be the type of game that exposes our roster. Call me whatever you want, but I still think it is in this teams best interest to get a 2 or a 3 that can play both sides of the ball, if that means you gotta trade Curry, I'd do it, but I guess thats another thread in itself.

From what I've seen so far we're still a better up-tempo team than half-court. I think Nate, JC, Balkman, Lee and either of Zack or Curry constitutes our most productive and cohesive unit.

It's possible that could change if we replaced a couple of parts from our halfcourt unit. Namely Stinkbury and Q. My feeling is he has those guys playing halfcourt not because they are the men best suited to it, but to mask their deficiencies.

I perceived that last night's win was a win. That's all that really matters when measuring a sports team's success, isn't it?

I voted dissapointing, simply because we held Al jefferson to 16 points and still struggled. We let craig smith look like mark aguirre and we let buckner and gomes( gomes is a pretty good player) look better than they really are, and that is a knick trademark, even walt mentioned this during the game. I mean craig smith? got damnm, the guy was posting up and shooting off of his wrist and it didn't get smacked back in his face. Ratliff outran curry several times down the court. Let me tell you, I had season tickets 5 years ago and I used to sit behind the hawks bench, one row behind them, and ratliff could barely pull his broken down ass off of the seat, yet yesterday he was posting curry and throwing up hooks with little resistence from curry.. I don't want to eeek out a win vs a mediocre team, I want to have good performances and solid wins. Time to raise the bar fellas.. play time with this team is over.. Nice to have the win, but that is it...

I will say that Craig Smith is pretty good player who could score like Crazy at Boston College- I'm not surprised he played well. But I mean Minnesota really isn't all that different than last year's 24 win Boston team. Its still a bad team.

craig smith was bowling people over in college, you would think in the NBA that wouldn't happen, especially for a guy who is sort of undersized at his position and really isn't a good leaper, has no shot or moves... just strange...
