Encouraging:
Defense: Marginally Better, 3 point defense was bad, but penetration was contained slightly better.
Offense: Much more potent, Randolph is a hell of a scorer which is a big plus, Nate looks more under control, Curry looks more under control, Crawford looks more under control(let's see if it lasts with him.).
Rebounding: Markedly Better, Lee is no longer the best rebounder on the team with Randolph around, Nate rebounds, Collins will add rebounding when he is ready to play, let's see if Jeffries can bounce back, if he can, the rebounding is excellent.
Distribution: ? hard to say, but Zach showed some nice interior passing, Nate passed nicely, Crawford has picked up where he left off with Curry, and even better he was feeding the post like he had a clue. I anticipate this being much better this year.
Shooting: Much Better, Randolph is nuts with his outside shooting even when he has to make a move, Nate is money, Crawford showed better selection which immediately improves his shooting. Let's see if Marbury can make one...
Overall: I like the fact they didn't fall behind big early which was last year's biggest problem, they took better care of the ball, let's see if that lasts. I would say they should improve by 7 games at least this year if they can stay healthy. Something better is forming.
I still can't help but feel the missing ingredient is Artest. He's the guy you put on Lebron James to stop him from scoring 50, and to make James work on defense as well. Unfortunately, I have more questions about his mental state than Randolph's. If Nate or Crawford look really good during Artest's suspension, the Kings fall into the hole early (likely), I think we can land Artest without giving up Lee.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!
