you're over paying for Kobe. I like Kobe but he can't carry a team he isn't Shaq or Jordan out on the trading market. He is no where near those guys. This is the best the Knicks should do for the Lakers. Crawford, Lee, Jefferies and a future number unprotected.

i don't see that as overpaying... i think it's the best the Lakers can do under the circumstances... if anything we're getting the better end of the deal... i'd easily give up Jamal, Lee, Curry, Malik & a 1st rounder for Kobe by himself & whatever other filler they wanna throw in there i'll take... Radman, Kwame or whoever else... if we can steal Bynum away all the better, but i don't see that happening.

just like TG just said, this team would have a legitimate shot at contending for the East right away:

C - Kwame
PF - Randolph
SF - Q Rich
SG - Kobe
PG - Marbury
6 - Balkman
7 - Nate
8 - Chandler
9 - Mardy
10 - Morris
11 - Jones
12 - Jefferies
13 - non-tendered FA pickup
14 - non-tendered FA pickup
15 - Turd

meanwhile the Lakers would have some very good young pieces to build their team back up with in Curry, Lee, Bynum, Jamal, Knicks' 1st rounder along w/the cap space to go after the big names like D Wade, Lebron, etc. in free agency... it's a win win for all considering they don't have many other options.

Can you imagine Curry at the top of the triangle, trying to make a pass? Curry should never be playing with the ball, that far from the basket. It doesn't make sense.

There's no chance Phil gives his blessing on getting Curry back. Moving Kobe would be to help the development of Bynum, not to stymie it by bringing in another center, one you would have to play since he was the centerpiece of the Kobe trade.

I can see Curry in the triangle offence- I could also see Curry being part of a Kobe trade & going somewhere else (Dallas for Josh Howard, Howard to LA?).

I don't see Phil following Kobe- I think he doesn't want anything to do with him- otherwise we wouldn't be seeing this kind of article.

triangle involves the post guy passing back out. curry is not suited for that offense. curry is a finisher at this point of his career and that's it. he's not a facilitator. he's not a decoy. he gets the ball and he will try to score in the paint, that's basically it.

curry for artest + kenny thomas.

Marbury, Kobe, Q, Randolph, Bynum is not a great squad.

I have zero belief in Marbury and Q, so your big three are Kobe, Zach and Kwame.

How much better than that is Kobe, Odom, and Bynum - a situation Kobe is desperate to be free of?

Curry and Zach should not be considered in any trade. You guys are painting a grass is greener picture. Eddy is a legit Center and getting Kwame back in a ny trade is a joke because Curry is so much better. Like I said Crawford, Lee, Jefferies and a future unprotected number 1 should suffice. Your giving them a pf, sg and a sf and not to mention an unprtected pick, don't over pay people Kobe is nice as long as the team is winning and the Knicks would go furture with Eddy, Zach and Kobe than with anything else.

i'd say it's a helluva lot better, especially in the East where Kobe won't have to go up against the Suns, Mavs, Rockets, etc... the East is a lot more guard dominated, & that suits Kobe's game perfectly... a team of Kobe, Zach, Marbury, Q, Balk, Mardy, et. al. can contend in this conference IMO...

btw, you didn't just qualify a big 3 including Kwame Brown, did you?

Congratulations on a successful trade.
Due to New York, L.A. Lakers, and Sacramento being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. New York, L.A. Lakers, and Sacramento had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

I know it seems like a lot but try to stay objective. Sacramento will do it because of the cap room they get with the expiring contracts they recieved for this year and next year plus draft picks. L.A. will do it to save face by getting former allstars and youth and starters.
The Knicks will do it because, well need i say more !!

KNICKS
C = CURRY
PF = LEE
SF = ARTEST
SG = KOBE
PG = NATE

lAKERS
C = MILLER / BYNUM
PF = ZACH
SF = WALTON / VLAD
SG = CRAW
PG = BIBBY

KINGS
Who cares, they get cap room galore & picks !!!

This is a win win win for all three teams !!!

everytime I see Charlie Rosen I wonder:

Hmm, Why is Charlie Rose talking about basketball.

But then I realize it must be someone else...

DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

^ Andrew Bynum is the starting Center in LA.

They'd have zero use for Eddy Curry.

At the end of the season, just about everyone, including suckbury's last year contract is up for trading. I would even offer money to help buy out one contract.

The only guys I'd say hands off for sure is Lee and Balkman. And we give up 'NO' draft picks. We will almost end up with a guy in the center position, with an explosive guy like Balk and a rebounding hound, Lee and a prolific scoring machine in Kobe, who can also play pretty good defense. We'll still have some very good pieces to go with Kobe. We need a super star scorer like Kobe.

As for Kobe being trouble in L.A.? Well' I think it's a no brainer. 'He wants out'! And 'he wants in' somewhere else. I think if he's somewhere else, he'll be happier and more productive and a lot less bitchy.
I'll never trust this' team again.

This is an excellent trade proposal. I like it. Now you have a reason to trade Zach. if it nets the KNicks Kobe and Artest you have to do the deal. It keeps Curry and Lee in NY I would go for this trade senario as it seems favorable to everyone.

Kobe should not be looking to be traded- the Lakers are really coming together as a team- they've just pulled away from Utah and should hold on.

Bynum is starting to play big- and his size is unbeatable.

And they still don't have Odom back.

Kobe should stay in Laker land- I don't think he has a better shot anywhere he could get traded to (Chicago/Knicks)

If we can win at home and do a decent job on the road our players will start to look more appealing to other teams. If Crawwford can continue to shoot at around 50% and Curry can continue to fight for rebounds like he did tonight, we might have a chance at a Kobe trade if Kobe renews his demand to get out of lakerland. THe knicks need to win and the Lakers need to lose to make it happen.

Marbury, Kobe, Q, Randolph, Bynum is not a great squad.

I have zero belief in Marbury and Q, so your big three are Kobe, Zach and Kwame.

How much better than that is Kobe, Odom, and Bynum - a situation Kobe is desperate to be free of?

i'd say it's a helluva lot better, especially in the East where Kobe won't have to go up against the Suns, Mavs, Rockets, etc... the East is a lot more guard dominated, & that suits Kobe's game perfectly... a team of Kobe, Zach, Marbury, Q, Balk, Mardy, et. al. can contend in this conference IMO...

come on man, i'm as down on Marbury as anyone, but to say he's no better than Kwame Brown? that's a little much, don't you think? & the other leftovers aren't exactly garbage either if you add a premier scoring threat like Kobe to the roster... they all of a sudden take on roles that suit their talents... Balkman & Mardy can play well off the ball & in the flow of just about any offense or defensive scheme IMO... then you add in Q Rich who's tough, plays solid D & can shoot the 3 or post up downlow on smaller guys... Nate who is still a pretty decent sparkplug coming off the bench when he's under control... Wilson Chandler seems to have some nice ability also, he just needs playing time to show what he can do... a trade for Kobe would solve so many problems for the Knicks not just in the addition of a true franchise level talent, but also in opening up roles for our young guys to grow & mature around a pretty formidable trio in Kobe, Zach & Marbury in the Eastern Conference IMO.
