This squad would have no trouble taking care of the Knicks on any given night...

agreed... i don't see how you include JO & Al Harrington on that list... they are both quality players.

Obviously it's factoring things like salary, defense, role on a contending team, how a players is talked about, season play vs post-season play, how a player performs in the clutch.... etc etc.

JO is 1 of the best shotblockers in the game, a very good rebounder, offensive post player, is still relatively young & has been the cornerstone of some playoff teams in the past... how exactly is he overrated?

Al Harrington is a very tough matchup for any team & has big shot making ability... he's not making nearly as much as some other players that should have made that list if salary was a main deciding factor... hell, i'd put Marbury on that list before either 1 of those guys based on those factors you just listed.

Jermaine makes $20mil, is injury prone, and a poor leader. Harrington didn't look better than Matt Barnes in the playoffs last yr and may come off the bench in Nelly's system this yr, doesn't play a lick of D despite being 6'10" has a career avgs of 5.9reb/gm .3blk/gm and .9stl/gm. I look at both sides of the ball my friend. He acknowledged he'll take it as a challenge to get back to being a starter. Now should other players have made the list of course but the list is definitely a good one.

i'll take JO over Curry in a heartbeat, & i'm not 1 of those on this board who thinks Curry's garbage either... i don't think Curry belongs on that list either even though he is overrated.... there's other C's in the game that make more than he does that aren't even close to being as talented... hell, look at Adonal Foyle, the guy's complete garbage & he makes comparable dollars to Curry.

what's the difference? someone had to regard him highly in order to pay him the money he's making... to put Eddy Curry over Adonal Foyle when they're both making comparable dollars is a little curious to me.

i equate production compared to the dollars they make as definitive of whether a player is overrated or not... Curry, as out of shape & overrated as he may be, is not the worst value in the league at his position when it comes to the production he puts forth.

You have a different definition, then. Overrated generally equates general perception vs. where the player "really" is.

OK, so based on your definition of general perception... why exactly is Curry the most overrated C in the league in your eyes? is there anyone other than Isiah, Curry himself & maybe a few Knick fans on this forum who feel he's 1 of the elite C's in the game right now? if you asked the general NBA fan what they thought of Eddy Curry, they'd say he's got talent but much of it is unrealized & he needs to get in shape... that's not exactly that highly regarded in my eyes... this is why i use salary commensurate to actual production as the defining scale, because it's a lot less subjective.

I think a lot of casual fans are like some of the lovers on this board: they only evaluate points as a measure of a player. In which case, Curry gets a high rating at 19.5 ppg. Posters on this board have said that points outweigh every other stat combined. Fans of other teams who don't see Curry play every night have had some high opinions of him. Furthermore, Curry's ceiling is much higher than it's at. Take all that into account and I don't know a player who beats him in being overrated.

The fact that much of the media have caught on to how inept Curry is doesn't change the fact that many fans are unaware.
