I was about to say, didn't we pick up their option?

I'd try to extend Lee before too long. Nate is one of those guys that is still very much a wait and see.

I would think either you sign Lee next year or you sign and trade him. He is the best trading block you have. He can bring back a very good player with a decent contract. Not someone with a bloated contract with a lot of years left.

The only problem is that with 2 years to go until unrestricted free agency, Lee won't agree to a sign and trade with just anybody. And not many teams are willing to give up a talented PG for what could be a 1 or 2 year player.

I still feel during Lee's RFA yr he'll have a team that will offer him a max/near max contract they can offer him.

But then the Knicks will have a chance to, and probably will, match it. Let's see for how long Lee is happy coming off the bench because Zach will probably be here for awhile.

I never go down that avenue because I don't know who is available. I think however with our big guys, all our resources should be put in this direction. In the meantime while we are searching and putting ourselves in position for when that PG does become available we should have a true vet PG to groom our current ones. A guy like a Darrell Armstrong would have been ideal.

Yeah, well, him AND David Wesley just signed with the Nets.

I think David could get 5 years 40 million if he continues to develop

That's about what to expect for a 10/10 guy.

5 & 40 might be what we think he is worth- but he will, I suspect, get much more.

bottomline, lee is a winner. I think he'll get at least 5 & 50 type money.

personally, at this point, i'd trade lee, just so he doesn't have to suffer this group.

as for a pg- unles dimwit dolan & isiah trade our draft pick- we're probably picking in the 5 to 7 range and should be able to get at least the second best pg.

There will certainly be a premium placed on his upside potential.

Give them to the Cavs. We have prized veterans that we need to keep so that we are ready for the big sign and trade deals we can make when their contracts are expiring.
