Looking at that schedule, I see 6-9. Not to be pessimistic, but that's not the easiest start to the season.

Funny, I remember reading that the beat writers were questioning Isiah about how his team would take advantage of the soft early schedule.

Funny how these things can be so subjective.

Because some look at it from the perspective they play the first 4 of 5 at home and 8 of 15 at home in the month, while others look at the back-to-backs, 5-6 on the road in the middle of the month and playing 9 strong potential playoff teams in the month.

My heart is telling me ESPN will be forced to dick ride our knicks this year.

Nah, if by crook they start accumulating wins, talk will immediately shift towards the Knick payroll, or the various scandals that have developed under Zeke's watch. Isiah is officially in the "do no right in our eyes" pariah jurisdiction.

Who cares. If the team wins, why would we care what the media says about Isiah? I just don't get this. The media in Seattle used to blast Shaun Alexander for being a soft runner. He was voted by NFL players as the NFL's most overrated player. That ver same year he ran for 27 TD's. Do you think any Seahawk fan gave a flying fahoot what the media and the players were saying about him as he was leading us to the Superbowl? Why do you guys care so much about what they say about the Knicks and Isiah.

It was an observation. I dont know why you would ascribe "caring" to that post. I have no personal investment in Zeke's reputation. Why do you "care" what we "care" about, BTW? If I were to go by your logic.

I will say this, however, the media has the ability of changing the story. The New York Yankees story 96-00 should be about the assemblage of selfless, clutch players who combined to form one of the best dynasties in sports history. Instead, the story is that Steinbrenner simply put together the best team money could buy. If the Knicks perform well, I'm hopeful that due credit will be justly assigned --- but I have my doubts.

sebstar, in a lot ways it would be nice if Isiah was gone.

Beyond the obvious ones, it would be more pleasant as a Knick fan if the media started taking a more objective view of the team and there is no way they are going to do that as long as Isiah is around. Right now the only coverage I can read is the Times.

It would also be a nice eye opener to some when the team doesn't magically shed all of its vets for ending contracts and draft picks to start a four year rebuild as soon as Zeke is gone. But that’s an entirely different discussion, and I don't want Bip to eat his cat. Or feed it to someone else, or whatever.

If you respond to the point I am making I will not be forced to make anyone eat a cat.

That's a great question, "why do I care what people care about?"

Because I'm curious.

I personally could give to flying fahoots what the media says about my team. If they say they are soft arses that can't win and yet they win 70 games why would I care? I was curious why others do. I assumed no one would answer

The only reason we care is because so far they have been right. And that bothers us.
