What it really boils down to for guys who root against their team is: "I'll root for them when they are good." Some people describe this as a bandwagon or fair-weather fan.

In any case, I do understand if people grow disinterested in their team, or it doesn't hurt them so much if their team loses because they think things will be better. That's only human.
But the day you actively root against your team, are happy when your man misses a free throw, or turns the ball over, or gets blocked at a critical juncture, scream "yes!" when the other team hits a 3, or you celebrate another team's win against your team:
On that day my friend, you are no longer a fan of said team.
all valid points. despite what i say i will NEVER watch a Knicks game and root for them to play bad defense, miss shots, etc.
every game i watch i am pulling for them to win. at the same time i don't see how dolan/isiah are still at the helm.
what does isiah have to do to get fired at this point, sign a knick city dancer with the midlevel exception?
