franco12- We weren't gonna insert D-nic into the Starting lineup get your head out of the clouds.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

Nobody on the planet, with dreams of playing in the NBA is going to go to Europe if he feels he is ready to play in the NBA today. DNich doesn't owe us any favors.

we paid $30MM in the jalen rose deal for a late 1st rounder. I don't think it would have been unreasonable to pay $18MM for JJ to go away to keep a second rounder who demonstrated he should have been a first rounder.

At the time I think Isiah was on Dolan's good side. That may not be the case right now. Dolan could just be waiting to see how Isiah does at the end of the season before Isiah gets fired.

regardless of whether Dolan has put isiah on notice- isn't dolan interested in basketball? doesn't he want his team to have the most assets? Is he so dumb that he can't see that Nichols could turn into a good player, and Freddy Jones a non factor? Or JJ a waste of his contract.

Dolan & Isiah are connected at the hip. Neither can admit a mistake.

Let's take marbs, Eddy, Jeffries, Craf, Big Snack, and their papa Isiah out for a second.
And here we go - magic transformation... Knicks are back and we all are lovers... except of some hard core Isiah lovers...

Papabear Says

Ha Ha Ha In your bigest dreams. If this team wins some games you haters will be seeing Zeke for the next 5 years. So get used to it. I liked Nichols but he would have been unhappy here. He wants to play now.

5 years is too much.
I am looking for major changes this year otherwise I will take Knicks out of my favorite sport teams list.
I have a lot of more enjoyable things to do but watching the team I used to like in misery for so long.

Guys have to take it easy with this Dnic thing. We all liked the kid, but he wasn't gonna play and I think he should've played in Europe. I'm sure they made it real clear to him that his chances of sticking were slim. As much as I like what he had to offer, it's really a numbers game. I personally would've wanted the Knicks to kick Jerome to the curb and eat his salary, but that's not my money.
IN the end life will go on for this team and they'll be unaffected by his absence. I mean really he wasn't going to make a difference this year and possibly not even next year.

Steph, Jamal, Q, Nate, Balkman, Mardy, Chan, Jared, Lee, Zach, Curry etc. Once Steph is gone we'd likely still not have much room for him to play. I'm not gonna go overboard about the loss of this guy. I don't like it, but it also not the end of the world.

Why can't you get pissed, just once? You were so excited when we picked up this kid.

Because he doesn't believe 50% of what he says.

You know I love you Nix.

This really annoys me too. I think it really comes down to Dolan probably not wanting to go the buyout route with another guy (James, Malik, etc.). What I don't understand is why we couldn't have sent him to the D-league for year or two. I mean, seriously, the Golden State Warriors can send a guy like Patrick O'Bryant (9th overall pick in the 2006 draft) to the D-league where he really worked hard on his game and became a better player. And that's a lottery pick we're talking about here. Listen, D-Nich didn't want to go Europe, whatever, I can't imagine a lot of young domestic players that would welcome a complete lifestyle change like that too, but we couldn't have sent him to the D-league to work on his game????

And now the very next game Jeffries goes down with the sprained knee...

Can someone tell me how this D-league thing actually works please. Was it ever even an option with Nichols? Did the Knicks not even bother to go the route or did he veto a D-league assignment like he did with going to play in Europe? Anyone know exactly what happened here?

Man, an athletic 6-8 wing that has a sweet stroke. And we cut him. Man I'm pissed.

its a hard 'cap' on the 15 man roster. for the knicks to have put dnic on our nbdl team, he would have needed a contract & been counted as our 1 of 15.

Clearly, management did not think Nichols was a good talent- time will ultimately tell us who was right.
