Jamal has sucked this pre season. He wont suck all season long though. And fortunately enough, we are talented enough to win with him being inconsistant. When he gets hot, we are pretty much gonna be unstoppable, we have so much firepower.

He has gone to the rack alot more and taken alot more contact when scoring, those are very good signs because hes an excelelnt ft shooter. I just hope he can give us a consistant 14 ppg.

franco - of course everyone has an opinion of a "manly" response but in the pre-season, not every confrontation must be answered with a retaliatory move that could escalate into chaos... or worse still... the stereotyping of the Knicks as a bunch of thugs... which is the standard knee-jerk label.

Jamal will find his way or be gone faster than you can say Lazzaro Borell

I lost him completely when Pierce grabbed his chin last game in the Garden and he was looking terrified and did nothing. He is a chicken not a man.

my concern with his response relates to instincts. his instinctive response was to stare blankly wondering - gee, why is this hand around my neck.

maybe jamal was super macho and said 'go ahead, make my day'- I doubt it.

we might be making a bigger deal out of this small incident than we should.

however, it is supported by a long history and large body of facts.

LOL. That\'s what I thought. Gosh he may need to go down to the YMCA 13-14 year old league to kick someone\'s arse to redeem himself here.

I have a kid that got decked on a wide open lay-up. When a fight broke out he ran and sat on my bench. He got made fun of like you would not believe. But on the court he was the toughest SOB on teh planet. Some guys can fight, some guys can't. Jamal is probably one who can't. Who cares. All that flexing and looking angry is just for show anyway. It doesn't mean you are tough.

It happened pretty fast. I think it was broken up before Jamal could respond.

Anyone can fight, but some guys have more control over themselves in tense situations and can see that fighting isn't necessary in every instance.

no one is saying jamal should have started a fight!

But, he could have done something a bit more in the way of asking pierce to remove his hand from around his throat.

What would that have done besides give you and me something to cheer about. So he didn't want to fight? So what?

Maybe he was enjoying it. Ever think if that?

you've got to also factor in the way he is playing lock down defense and running the team.
