denver got the lottery pick and camby last year. and in the process dumped a shaq-like contract with shot knees on the knicks

i don't think kiki can outdo himself again...

funny thing is he didn't even have a gun or a ski mask on...

haha prod.. If this were Jail, kiki would have layden tossing his salad... LOl!!!

That is how lopsided that deal was.....

How so? Camby's a lazy, scrawny, frail bum. Mark Jackson is sloooooowww. The only thing we lost was the 7 pick, which we would not have used on Nene anyway, but Wilcox. An injured McDyess is argubaly better than a healthy Wilcox.

I consider it an even trade.

The thing that Kiki and Denver can do that won't fly in NYC is to have one of the absolute worst teams in the league. No one would come see the games then. You think attendance dropped off this year? Imagine if the team was a .200 team. Cablevision would lose so much money, they'd have to rent out MSG for bar-mitzvahs. As long as Dolan is in charge, there will be no blowing up of the Knicks, no tanking, none of that. Kiki does it because he can. Were he GM of the Knicks, he wouldn't be allowed to do that.

Let's see... Denver is well under the CAP, has a few good young players and is looking at Carmelo Anthony.

The Knicks are guzzillions over the CAP, have contracts that will last longer than my luggage, traded for a star who hasn't played in years and may never play again and the only inquires made about our players come from competing glue factories...

Who would you rather be?

DEFandREB you are on POINT !!!

I dissagree, first of all to say that an injured dice is better than Wilcox is ridiculous, come on man and say what you want about camby but you were loving him when he was here, hurt or not, I am sure of that.. The point is these suits here are not stupid, they have the patience for rebuilding if the knicks would just level with the fans and let them see that we are building in a positive direction. Don't be fooled, once upon a time the nuggets were a good team and not too long ago they were playing good ball, they fell into the same trap the knicks did, after losing Deke and ellis and the rest of that team they tried the quick fix with guys like exel and Howard, and some other overpaid bums, it didn't work, now that kiki is there, he is a players GM, he talked owners into fixing up the dressing rooms, putting money back into the team, they are young, exciting and believe it or not they are closer to being a good team than we are over the long haul.

Knicks fans are astute, they came and I was one of them to the garden when all Ewing had was Ken banister, Eddie lee wilkins and rory sparrow.... I remember those days but we put up with it because we had a star in Ewing and could build from that, the future looked bright, then we drafted Mark Jackson and Rod strickland, signed a few Free Agents and bam!! we were back, this is not an impossible process and don't short sell the fans, in the new age of the CBA we understand there is no magic dust that we can sprinkle on this organization, but with smart moves and being real to your team and to yourself the knicks can right this ship, but to brush off rebuilding as something for teams like Denver, and the clippers is why we are in this shyt hole of a situation!!

Hey, I got no problem with it, but I'm not the owner. It's all good fun to pretend what COULD happen in some alternate universe, but the reality is that there will be no "rebuilding" process. You've heard it from Dolan, from Layden, even from Houston! It isn't going to happen as long as Cablevision owns the Knicks. If they missed the playoffs by a few games, then the logic is that they need to get just better enough to win those few games.

Question of the day:

Taking everything into consideration, name another NBA franchise that has a future more bleak than the New York Knicks?

you have a better chance at hitting the lottery 10 times in a row than finding a team with a more bleak future than the knicks...

The Rangers will be good next year and are not over the cap. Thanks for playing, please try again.

Oh, and I was making a joke about Wilcox. Mainly because he hasn't impressed anybody yet. Maybe later. Not now.

Still say it was an even trade.

And Camby? I was excited when it looked like he would contribute, but he has always had a bad rep, from the vey start. The other players had to yell at him to get him to take the team seriously. Bad work ethic, he totally pussed out after his sister got held hostage. Not saying I don't understand or sympathize, but I'd rather have a guy who rose above it and played like a manimal after such a thing. Camby has no shot to speak of. I've never seen such poor shooting form from a pro. Can't play one-on-one D, just off-the-ball swatting, fast break finishes, but no shooting, not so great rebounding. He's weak.

Also, if the team is a .200 team, I would tolerate it, many of the people on this board would tolerate it, but the investors who own Cablevision would not tolerate it. The only way you sell tickets to a .200 team is if you have a superstar player like we had with Ewing, like Cleveland will have with Lebron. We do not have that right now, and will not this season.

The Knicks could stink it up a season, lose millions of dollars, get first pick, and pick a Joe Smith. Cablevision is not going to tolerate it, and in the real world Cablevision's stock price and profit margins matter more than what the fans want.

Dolan does not know a got damn thing about rebuilding a basketball team, layden is the one who refuses, I bet if layden who Dolan pays a king ransom, says rebuilding is our best bet, then Dolan rebuilds, lets face it, the east,as weak as it is, has passed us by, we are not making the playoffs with this direction layden is taking us in, trying a new direction is the best way to go..

Nope. Dolan runs the show. Layden was hired to take orders from Checketts. Dolan removed Checketts, then stuck his nose in Knicks/Rangers. He defers to Layden on player personnel choices, but Dolan dictates how much money Layden is allowed to spend and how important the playoffs are to the bottom line next season.

hey: I am not even asking for a all out rebuild like Denver is doing because as mentioned that won't happen in NY, but for christ sakes at least let us keep our picks, develop some talent and stop burdening this team with long contracts on bums like Anderson, eisley, and spoon and not take such risks with our picks and future for players comming off serious injuries!!

The hole is deep enough. let us stop digging!!

LAC (will never pay the going rate), Seattle (Allen is their star? Good luck in the West, gents), Milwaukee (imploding as we speak, will be mediocre until they ditch Mace, he's a bad egg), Washington (Abe Pollin will run them into the ground), Atlanta (they made all these sweet deals last year and what did it get them? Zero - that's real failure!)

Future... not past or present.

Future involves most importantly... salary cap and contracts. No one worse than us. Age... with the possible exception of unproven and unsigned Vujanic, we have no good young players. Talent... we're aging... with the few players we have worth a d*mn, past their prime.

p.s. and I didn't even mention Laydumb and Dolan.

Hey, I'd love it if we just made a decent pick and lived with it. But this is the Dolan/Layden era ... expect the worst.
