If you look closely at the bottom of the screen for the other NBA scores you can see Eddy Curry had 23 points for the Bulls

Jones didn't come into the league as a defensive minded player. He's only recently made the effort to mold his game that way in order to stay in the league. He's athletic enough to be good on D and perhaps he's worked on his technique enough to get much better than many of you recall in the past. Guys can improve in that area, as we have seen happen with Steph and others around the league.
It could be that Isiah is seeing how he's executing in a team defensive role. If he has been hustling along with the other guys that we have, who can defend, the overall effect can be greater than the individual ability might indicate. I don't see how it matters that much. He's likely a guy that won't see a lot of minutes, but so long as he's effective in those minutes, that's all that matters. I doubt he'll get exposed much in that kind of role. Dallas wasn't known to have a lot of great defenders, but in a team concept they learned how to play better D and that's really all we're trying to do. If you have a great one on one defender it can enhance your D, but many teams don't have that one guy, so you have to have a few good defenders that can function well as a unit and it's still very effective. You're not really gonna shut down a great shooter like Pierce or Allen if he's hitting from deep, but I think we're mainly talking about penetration in this case. I hope Balkman heals well and can be his usual self. Cuz I think when you put a bunch of our high energy guys together they can be effective. |

You guys are such haters. BTW, don't let the fact that the last dunk was actually Dwayne Wade disturb you. Fred's a great dunker, especially when he's Dwayne Wade.
As for his defense, there is a clip in the other Fred Jones thread that shows him preventing Kobe from making a three or maybe four point play. https://
It's not so hard.

What a relief, Isiah was able to find someone who can finish a breakaway. Not many players out there who can do that.
