Everyone knows who they don't want, but very few know who they do want. I guess it's easier to complain than to be constructive.

I don't know if it's possible, but I like the innovative minds of the Nelson Clan. I wonder if Donnie nelson Jr. can be had what with Cuban being pissed at his paw and the Mavs recent defeat. Maybe his daddy will show up sometime soon behind him. I consider Nelson Sr. to be one of the best minds in the game.

I would like to keep IT around to coach for a while and for his killer drafting, but maybe a candidate for coach would be that euro-coach everyone is talking about coming to the NBA now, I forget his name at the moment.

I really like Mark Jackson as GM or Coach and I think that is possible. He was simply one of the best minds playing the game during his 17 year career.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

Jerry Colangelo. But I'm assuming he would have to be given partial ownership of the Garden. Probably worth it. He's no nonsense and would clean out all the riff raff at MSG. Charlie should have acted last season when we could have also had Bryan Colangelo as GM. *sigh*

that is exactly the person i was thinking about too... Colangelo would be the perfect choice to hand the reigns over to if Jim Dolan gets ousted.

Ok, if you just want some names, how about:

Bloomberg
Jerry West

Oh yeah, there isn't a more qualified person than Colangelo to take over the daunting task of returning MSG to greatness. Colangelo has many years experience in almost every major sport, plus he's been a coach, gm and owner. The man is well respected and a winner.

Also Marbury, Curry, Randolph, James and Crawful would all be gone much sooner rather than later.

Just Curious

arkrud - do you have any nominees?

There are times when you better off keeping low profile for the organization.
Sleep in the shadows. Bring down the expectations to nothing, build young core, draft and try new bodies, get read of overprized booms and crew associated with failures.
You don't need any names for it. Some hardworking person with clean profile (may be blank profile)
If Isiah will be let go - he will go completely. You cannot fire the GM and keep the coach. This is nonsense.

Saw this article in the Post and felt the need to comment.

This is the best news Knick fans have heard in a long while. Dolan/Mills/Isiah all need to be sent packing and I agree with Majorleads and TMS... Jerry Colangelo is the first name I thought of while reading this article and is the right man for the job. If Jerry says no, I would then call up Jerry West. With either guy, the right people would be hired and put in place to make the RIGHT calls for the New York Knicks.

This is absolutely fantastic news.

Very true.
This group is the continuation of IT. The elements of his smoke screen system to hide the incompetence and ignorance to the fans and to NYC. They are also the victims of Isiah. I am pretty sure all this players will be better off without him.
But some people are poisoning everything around them and when player is vulnerable underachiever it is tuff to resist the apple from the snake.

I doubt very highly Mayor Mike would get the keys to the MSG kingdom.
(1) MSG were the ones that blocked HIS West Side Stadium (I think that was more Little Jimmy's doing but anyway....)
(2) I think Mayor Mike owns more than enough as it is.

If Dolan the elder wants someone new to give the keys to, I nominate Magic Johnson, Laker roots notwithstanding.

And for those that felt Stern didn't/wouldn't play a part as some of us suspected he would he surely is behind this. This is great and expect a very tumultuous season ahead. There's no way this team goes from sex scandal to deep in the NBA playofss or even to the playoffs it just doesn't translate.

Clean Sweep

arkrud - If your preference is to eliminate any vestige of Isiah Thomas, why not get rid of Lee, Balkman, Collins, Zach, Nate, Morris, Jordan, Jones, Nichols and The Mayor?

just wondering how far the housecleaning extends

Because some of them haven't shown signs of misbehaving. Don't have to throw the baby out with the bath water.
But, yes, you can get rid of Zach and Nate, if you think they have bad attitudes.

MUS: theme from The Godfather

Panos - if the level of pissed-offedness is as extreme as the Post claims, does Charles take the MSG toy from son James and turn the operation over to someone outside the family?

Or is it easier to fire Mills?

Which route does Daddy Dolan take?

I think the following options are available for Dolan's replacement

1) The Toss Salad Man-He will put everyone in check or else........
2) Woody Allen- He knows how to work with young people
3)Darth Vader - IF he can run the Death Star he can run the Knicks.
4) Hannibal Lector -He knows how to clean up the mess and leave no evidence.

That's as good of a guess as anybody can have.

See, now you're being constructive and not just complaining.

I'll take the job. And guess what would be my first order of business?

I would happily dump the entire team if it meant no more Dolan and Isiah. I would even drive David Lee and Balkman to Brooklyn.

Can you imagine what the fight between father and moron must have been like? What exactly could the moron have to say to defend himself?

I really hope that just pissed off Mr Charles Dolan even more.

There's no chance you keep Isiah as coach and remove him from the front office. Isiah is finished in the NBA, he can go make popcorn the rest of his life.
