Yeah, I'm no fan of Isiah, but this is just crap.
Layden's players may have played hard, but many of them just plain sucked.
Talent level was low, and it was painful to watch.

I don't like Isiah, I have more hope that he could get lucky one day than Layden.
I just hated him.

I almost forgot Layden traded Ewing for a broken down Glen Rice. Layden was by far a worse GM .

True gambit2081...but even with those terrible trades - our record was similar (2001/02 - 30 wins, 2002/03 - 37 wins) and we maximized our (limited) talent level. The debate isn't if Layden was good (he wasn't), it's just that Isiah seems to get so much credit for constructing a better roster (younger, more athletic - which is true), wheras Layden had old, broken-down players (also true). Despite all this, our record isn't significantly better (29 win average from 2004 to now), our cap situation not better, our level of professionalism and hard work is less (my opinion), and he's had 3 and 1/2 seasons to show improvement in any of these areas. (Btw, I didn't use 2003-04 stats because IT took over during the season). If you add all of this up, there's still a bottom line and I don't see how we are better in any area (except collecting individual talents that could be tradeable in the future), especially the most important ones for fans - record, salary cap/future, effort level, professionalism. I just think Isiah should be evaluated as harshly as Layden was, and I think Isiah gets a pass because he's charismatic...

Both suck. Nothing left to discuss.

The team is run by a corporation that will never do real rebuilding.

Getting kicked in the nuts is probably worse than getting punched in the face.

But guess what, I don't want either if I have the choice.

The Knicks have a choice.

Which goes directly back to Dolan any way you look at it.

I'm going to have to take your word on that one.

But if you say so.

funny thing is, layden was able to get another NBA job. Once assiah is gone, he won't get didley squat cause of the sexual harassment charge on his record. LOL!!
