You really can't overstate how much the Knicks means to the NBA. It's easy to forget, since their twenty-first century has been such a bush league embarrassment. But after the Lakers and Celtics, there's the Knicks ... and that's pretty much NBA history. The Celtics managed to instantly restore their glory by having Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen fall into their lap. It won't be that easy for the Knicks, but best believe that Stern's already plotting their rehabilitation.[/i]

This is why I don't want chicago to be successful, because jordan gave that town a dynasty to look foreward to. Six championships and if they start another one, then it will be L.A., Celts & chicago not too far behind. Knicks got to get going on the right kinds of moves for the future and go knocking on the door again. Just got to, but you make some very good points.
I'll never trust this' team again.

stern should absolutely and positively hold isiah and especially dolan accountable. this is the nba and they represent the league with their conduct.

Absolutely! The way this franchise has been handled since Checkettes left, who ever would've, could've imagined we'd have to go through all of this crap the last ten years?! It is a downright embarrassment. We have the most money and so we should have at least' one of the best opportunities to put some true quality out there on the floor every year, but we have a bunch of overpaid clowns here and it's certainly hurt this NBA franchises reputation and yes' they should in fact be held accountable! It should be as embarrassing to Stern's NBA as Artest was when he went into the stands in Detroit! These NBA players (count-em) have gotten away with a lot of **** and Stern's got to start making all of them own up to it, including Isiah & Dolan. I totally agree. I for one am offended by the whole deal. I want these guys to go away.
I'll never trust this' team again.

Stern has said on more than one occasion, that he works for the owners. His hands are tied.

Then that's foolish and NY fans should stop going to the games to show thier displeasure. I bet you Stern's hand would suddenly become un'tied.
I'll never trust this' team again.

I am of the opinion that if they reduce it to 3M our dignity will be restored and the players will be so inspired that it will propel us to the land of the shiny stuff. YOu would realize this if you were closer to the light.

Now that' is really funny!

Some people dont like to see excessive judgements. My attorney told me about a case where a family only got $270,000 for a wrongful death suit. Thats life and death not getting called a nasty word and being hugged. I'm not sweating it. The high award probably will work against her. If it was 1-3 million Dolan probably would have paid up. Now she will have to wait and pray for years as Dolan ties it up in court appeals

You guys refuse to give in to defeat. On this issue, and most of the sub issues, most of you voted wrong. The biggest crime of all is not Isiah alone. He started this crap, but the fact that Dolan backed it up, by firing her was clearly discrimination, not by color but by gender. I will say it again, this isn't some little court room battle of she said he said. This has opened up an ugly door no one wanted to believe existed. The door has been opened and all the ugliness has poured out. What do you do? Cover it up?! Too late! And that's why she's going to get the whole thing. It is rare for a women to take it to this level, on such a high profile atmosphere. The damage is done and the court has spoken. It would be almost rediculuos to even think about appealing. Even if she got only three mil, even if things seemed to go back to normal, the fact remains that the ugly door has opened already. Can't change that.
I'll never trust this' team again.

The Jury verdict is reflection of public opinion about Dolan, Isiah, and Knicks organization as it stands now. This is nothing to do with Anucha or IT being guilty or innocent.
The organization as a whole is associated with circus and IT, Mills, and Steph personally are associated with clowns, not with basketball. And Dolan has no choice but get read of them sooner or later.

Defeat? I wasnt in a court room nor do I have to pay a penny. I wasnt defeated.

Dolan would be nuts not to appeal. At the very least an appeal would get ABS lawyers calling looking to settle for a lower number rather than waste years in the court system with a big risk their judgement would be reduced. They dont wnat to wait for their money nor do they wnat to take a chance it is reduced or reversed all together. Dolan has nothing to lose by appealing

Let's focus more on the fact our franchise not putting themselves in the position to be manipulated by an unjust system. Run a tighter ship and show true leadership. There are 30 teams in the NBA but only ours was involved in a sexual harassment suit this summer(although this is happening behind closed doors at every NBA/sport/coporate venue some say), obviously something is wrong at MSG and maybe it starts with the process of how and why they hired Anooka? I doubt it, but we could use that as a reference point.

I'll say one thing about this thought process. If you guys don't think women go through sexual harrassment every day, then you really don't understand what it is and how serious this thing really is. I been reading a lot of these opinions and perspectives whether she should or should not get a dime and I find some distrubing things here amongst a few of you. You cannot assume that she is a bitch, and in some opinions, is too ugly to get a cent. You cannot sweep this accusation under a rug, because when you do things like that, that is your first mistake. Big time! This shows how ignorant Dolan is for instance for letting this get out of hand. They have a damn personnel department, they must! Every conpany does, especially a huge enterprise like this. We already know what a creep Isiah is. I really didn't think he could be like this a few years ago, but judging on how his attitude towards putting this team together and the horrible results that have come out of this, it is very easy to see the kind of misjudgement he's made. He made this team. He broke it and it's his. Period! But as far as sexual harrassment, this is something that has to be treated very delicately and when you take something like this for granted, it shows a kind of culture that may exist. Maybe a hostile culture, one where people would not want to talk about, especially if they feel they can lose their jobs. The scout who lost his 250thou job, because he came foreward, he had everything to lose and he lost. Did you know that people who are mixed up in something like this, when it is well known that they sort of ratted out thier fellow man, it spreads like wild fire and they almost become black listed. It happens a lot in corporate America. Well' this is the very culture that I think has been existing in MSGville and I for one recognize this (and a few others I can see recognize this) and I for one know in order to get past this whole thing, to get back to watching your step and developing basketball, this has got to come out, as ugly as it is, it has got to come out, come out big and some one should hang for it. Maybe not neccessarily fired, but held accountable and made to publicly apologize and make sure that it never, ever happens again. I'm still wondering what the hell suckbury was talking about when it was disclosed that he had sex with an intern? That alone could be explosive and if someone wanted to file charges against that, they very easily can do so. I know I said it several times before, but we don't need this. This has nothing to do with professionalism or basketball. We need accountability and respectability back in the Garden. But first and foremost, this ugly thing has got to come out and be dealt with the right way. We can no longer sweep this problem under a rug. Whatever happens, it has to happen.
I'll never trust this' team again.

Bootleg POD

"Thomas is planning to be in Charleston, S.C. by this evening’s practice. Again, nobody knows if there will be any fallout."

Here’s the first press release from the Garden:

“We believe that the jury’s decision was incorrect and plan to vigorously appeal the verdict. We look forward to presenting our arguments to an appeals court, and believe they will agree that no sexual harassment took place and MSG acted properly. The normal operations of Madison Square Garden and the New York Knicks will continue unabated and we will have no further comment until the appeals process has concluded.”

I agree. Except about marbury. He screwed an intern who his cousin also screwed. She testified that she screwed him and did it because she wanted to. Only person he has to worry about is his wife, other than that, unless you're on some moral high ground or something, I dont what your point is about Stephon.

Carl Tobias, a professor at the University of Richmond Law School and a former civil litigator, doubted the appeal would succeed.

"The jury heard the facts and it is unusual that an appeals court would overturn a jury finding which was so fact-intensive," he said in a telephone interview. "There isn't much basis unless there was a legal error, and Judge Lynch has a very good reputation for making sure his cases are fairly and properly tried."

Tobias said that the jury not holding Mr. Thomas financially liable "is not a large enough inconsistency that could have this overturned."

I'd love to hear Isiah try to spin that one. "We are going to appeal this all the way to the top, on the grounds they didn't find me personally liable."
