Some think once they get reborn they are absolved from guilt.

And then there are some who have guilt all the time and are desensitized from there wrong. think about it

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

He actually said 'we can talk about me all day'.

He actually said, "We could talk about me all day long," Marbury said, "but really what we're really supposed to be talking about is basketball."

It has a completely different meaning when you don't cut off the end of the quote.

Thanks for clearing this up Ira. The title of this thread is very misleading. There are plenty of things to bash Marb on, but this comment in its entirety isn't one of them.

Yeah, with a COLLEGE INTERN.

Why do people always seem to leave that part out?

That's a fireable offense in most companies.

Alright so she's in college. Big deal. She's 22 y/o. She has a brain of her own.
I'm all for bashing Doofusbury, but I could care less that he banged a 22 y/o.

Leave the man alone. We don't need anyone stifling his right to free speech. Preach on Mr. Marbury.
I just hope that people will like me

Really? What companies?

If that were true, I wouldn't have had many internships in college.

Any, actually.

A matter of fact...I married one of those interns.

Never received a pink slip.

College (cough) Interns

rembee - back in the day, I had an attractive 'intern' proposition me in exchange for a grade she didn't deserve. Without hesitation, I turned down her tempting advance and decided to give her the well-deserved failing grade...

.... but I thought about it.

It was a bad decision by Marbury. But a consenting adult decision.

I once had a girl proposition me cuz she thought I was cute. She was a college intern too. Actually we both were in college at the time. Needless to say I had to pass because I needed to get my uk fix in before the library closed for the night.

Yeah. I thought we were in for something good, but he actually said the right thing for once. The first time, actually.

Multi-tasking is a blessing in a situation like this.

Did you have to get married in Hawaii at that time, or was it more recently when they made it legal in Massachussets?

Marbury is just trying to take the heat off his teammates, coach and owner by unselfishly putting it on himself. :)

I have no problem with Marbury banging interns, or interns wanting to sleep with players, I expect that stuff. But I would have a problem with the situation that was charged in this case, where an intern felt it was her responsibility to sleep with key players in the organization.

Now I understand that this intern testified that she was "in control," which might be good enough. But it's worth considering that not everybody who thinks they are in control are, as many recovering alcoholics might testify. So it's worth considering whether an intern interested in further employment really is in control in an environment where Marbury thinks he runs the show, and is mentored by a soon to be found guilty harasser, and where even those from Marbury's freeloading, nepotistic entourage are allowed to spew venom towards female employees.

Mutual consent is well and good, but an environment where women fear if they stand up for themselves they will be disposed of is not conducive to a sense of control.

Oh Snap, Panos, good one.

I'd post the link to the announcement in the New York Times but I wouldn't want any of you scum-bags to know where I work.

Blueseats, Decker had subsequent "meetings" with Marbury and dated a member of Marbury's entourage.

I wonder, without making any accusations (honestly) if this issue of “self control” would even be brought up or pursued by Brown’s defense team if so many people didn’t have a problem with a black man being with a white girl.

We are all entitled to speculate until the cows come home. I saw your more impassioned presentation of this position in those deleted posts and I think in certain instances, like as utilized by some journalists, your point may hold some validity. But, largely I think Anusha had cause for true concern about how power was being wielded at MSG, so for her I don't think it was an issue of race. I think she would have been just as concerned if it were a black intern. For instance, I think we saw similar concerns regarding the relationship between Clinton and Lewinsky (both white) where it was felt a person of great power exploited the naivety of an underling. In some ways Lewinsky too was the instigator of the relationship, and therefore "in control," but now removed from the situation I'd think when she looks back on those days she realizes she was less in control than she thought.

I can't speak for anyone, but Anuscha's claim was that Decker told her she felt she had to go with Marbury because of who he was. A seven person jury found Anucscha more credible than Isiah/Dolan, and apparently they felt that those who testified on behalf of Anuscha had less to gain personally in doing do than those who testified against her. That's all we really know.

Did she have to marry you to keep her job or get a promotion?
