Jury shows signs it believes Thomas committed sexual harassment
Associated Press

NEW YORK -- A jury indicated Monday that it believes New York Knicks coach Isiah Thomas and Madison Square Garden committed sexual harassment against a former team executive who brought a $10 million lawsuit that quickly turned into a public relations disaster for the once-proud franchise.

There was no official verdict, but the wording of a note to the judge by jurors makes it clear that they have reached decisions on the key points of the trial.

They reached a decision on eight of the nine questions on the jury form; they were deadlocked on the other question, which asks whether Thomas should have to pay punitive damages. That question only becomes relevant if the jury of four women and three men first determines that Thomas and Madison Square Garden committed harassment against the former executive.

The judge sent the jury home for the day, asking them to deliberate again on that question Tuesday.

i think we need to wait to hear the final verdict from the jury.

He also said the Yanks season was over in May and that they should dump Arod before the season.

WNYC 820 AM (National Public Radio) had the same info as Francesa.

Well if she wins some ridiculous amount then everyones tickets and cable rates go up. Is that a good thing?

[Edited by - COSSUCKS on 10-01-2007 6:04 PM]

You're going to be really upset if Anucha wins, aren't you?

Not if its a fair amnount. If its a crazy amount I would be disappointed. I'm 100 for justice being carried out for both sides.

You just contradicted yourelf.

How so? I said I dont think she should win a ridiculous amount but I would not be upset at a fair amount. I dont see any contradiction

Is the ESPN report good enough for you or do you have damaging credibility against them?

If justice is served and a reasonable award is readhed I have no problem with that.

ESPN gets things wrong as much as anyone. Did you see the espn report that Eli was going to miss a months worth of games? He didnt miss one. That was from an espn inside source.

Go back to your weird name calling and trying to steal passwords.

Hopefully Martin will take care of that

The article posted on ESPN is cited as an Associated Press article. It could be wrong but I would lean towards believing that it is valid.

There has been no stealing of passwords stop making stuff up. You do seem bitter from the Trial uncoverings and I can't understand why. The jury consisted of 4 women, plus a man juror who expressed disappointment over the team's lack of success, so their apparent ruling isn't suprising. A lot of times jurors decide things off of emotional feeling instead of pure justice and it happens on a daily basis. There's no need for any of us to have a strong emotional attachment to the outcome of this trial besides maybe those related to the individuals in the case and season ticket holders.

I wont be at all surprised if/when the jury rules against Isiah/Dolan, nor will I be surprised to hear from jurors that Isiah's comment that he's less offended by hostility from blacks hardened their resolve against him, regardless of the juror's race.

Hmmm. Seems like a strange reaction.

The gender probably didn't help his case. I wonder if his arrogant Azz even gave them consideration? Strike my last question it was dumb of me to ask.

I'm not bitter at all. Why would I be when I dont know the outcome. I just want justice for all involved. If a fair award is given then the justice system prevails. I dont want Isiah nor ABS to be above justice.

As far as your password stealing goes the only reason it didnt happen was because Martin was wise enough not to send it to you.

I have to agree with you. That statement by Zeke Brought him down. This was a case of she said and he said. But she was the little girl faceing the big giant.MSG I think the jury took it personal. If I was MSGs Lawyers I would demand equal men on that jury. Leaking this out like this is bad. Dolan will appeal. What brought Zeke down was the statement he made about him being offended if whites called a black woman a bitch and less offended if blacks call a black woman a bitch. It was the kiss of death.
Whether Zeke keeps his job or not. The important thing is the team and if new people came in so be it.
One thing I do know, who ever takes Zekes place some of you fakers will still be bitching an moaning. You see I care more about the team than I do management.

You see why I said that it is not going to be good for him because you have a jury of more females than males (I said it should have been 4 males and 4 females), and in most cases like this females will feel that sympothy for the female in the case. Im not suprise.

Well if she wins some ridiculous amount then everyones tickets and cable rates go up. Something to celebrate!

Yup, declining product at a higher cost has been the standard at the garden since Jr took over.

Expect less, pay more.

I get what your point is and it still stands, but the last year the Rangers missed the playoffs he did slash ticket prices by 10%.

I hate Dolan arguably more than the next guy, but when the product sucks an incredible amount he has cut prices before. So, I doubt he raises prices here.

You guys seem to think majority opinion holds sway on the jury, but It has to be unanimous. So apparently even the three men found Anucha's case credible.

Of course, I wasn't being literal. The point was that the quality of the product has gone down relative to the price. Like anyone, he has to do what he's got to do to sell seats, but if I'm not mistaken, even with the price cuts, the Knicks are still the most expensive ticket in the league.

If IT and MSG will be found guilty it is not about the harassment and not about what Isiah sad about women and race.
The indictment is about failure to do his job on all counts.
It's all adds up and at the end there are nobody to stand behind him.
He has only Dolan left and I will not rely on Jimmy too much.
He has 15 guys in orange and blue to dig him from the hole but will they cooperate?
