This team had another crazy summer and Marbury's antics was so weird beyond belief. With his intention to play in Italy when his contract runs out that doesn't show much loyalty from "Mr. I Wanna Die a Knick". This is my premise when I posed this option. If Mardy develops into the pass first defensive PG of the future, then getting rid of Marbury now would help in the development of Mardy. Right now Marbury being the face of the franchise is not a good thing, from his incoherant rants to his dirty laundry being aired in the court case(by the way Thomas is smelling like a rose compared to Marbury)it is time to speed up the timetable with his replacement. Don't you think?

Ira - like you, I was thinking about the 7 additions since May 2007.

not a bad haul for a 5 month period
This is something Isiah has been doing quite well since 2005. People around here seem to forget that he's been totally revamping this roster with good young talent the last few years. Now all this talent is here for a reason and the old guard will be gone soon enough. With Steph he's a good player for us right now, as he allows us to play at a good level until the replacements are ready. I really think we are in a good position.

I totally agree. The one thing Isiah does quite well is turnover. Foolish and blind fans can be thrown off the scent of failure by turnover.

"Ok, this didn't work, but look at how many new players we brought in, you gotta be excited about the potential of this group."

Starbury's team

The 3 first rd picks team

Curry's team

Zach's team

It's amazing that people still get fooled by this transparency. There is no plan, it's only about survival. The survival of those fat MSG paychecks being direct deposited into Isiah's bank account. Isiah knows he's never getting another job like this in the NBA, he has to do everything he can to keep this one.

don't forget:
Larry Brown's team

With Marbury a year older and none the wiser, one has to wonder if Italy is going to come sooner for Marbs and Kathleen.

Why are so many people against Stephon? Stephon is not the problem. He plays well. We need defense. Replacing Stephon wont do much for the team defense.

What are you talking about? Stephon is one of the worst defensive point guards in the entire league. If you're saying we need defense, Steph should be one of the first guys you'd want gone, no? We gave him credit for *trying* last year, but he still sucked on defense on many nights. Take that, his me-first attitude and his cancerous precence on the team and it's obvious why most people would want to replace Steph. A team with Stephon Marbury is a team in disarray, until proven otherwise.

And you base that conclusion on what?

The powers of observation, basketball statistics, the Knicks record, the record of every team Marbury has even been on, compared with the moment he left those teams, comments from past teammates, Marbury's erratic and irrational behavior... take your pick.
