I think it's Zach Randolph, why you ask?? Well it's easy, Randolph is the better player than Curry ... he has more ways to score because with Curry all you gotta do is dump the ball down low to him and the opposing team will be waiting to hit Curry with the double/triple team. When this happens, Curry usally either travels, throws the ball away, or turns the ball over via the offensive foul. Now ... not saying Curry shouldn't get touches because he will obviously. I'm saying that the ball should be run through Randolph because he has a jumper, he can score in the paint, and when he gets hit with the double team ... he can put the ball on the floor and dish it to Curry since he can pass the ball. Agree??
Eddy Curry
Zach Randolph

Real quick on the Dalembert scenario - The more I think about it, I think I'd rather have Louis Amundson back in a deal instead of Carney. He's an energy type, a real hard-nosed hustler. He brings a very similar game to David Lee's in fact. The crowd would love him.

Another guy I'd look at for interior defense would be Andris Biedrins from Golden State. Again, just like Dalembert, not a guy his team if actively looking to shop, but all it take is a phone call from Zeke. You figure Patrick O'Bryant is their center of the future so it's not as if they're all of a sudden not covered at center if they ever dealt him. Again, not likely, but if Zeke ever came calling and started throwing names at Mullin like Curry, Lee and Balkman - he'd have to at least listen right? With 30-35 minutes a night, Biedrins is 10+ reb. per game and over 2 blocks per game, easily. A case cane be made that he might have a higher ceiling than Lee. IMHO he'd be a better fit for us than Lee, now that we got Zach on board...

So yeah, Dalembert, Justin Williams (who would probably have to come in a bigger Artest trade) or Andris Biedrins are all guy's I'd target.

Don Nelson was afraid to even have Bierdrins on the court vs Curry because Curry was able to throw him around so easily. All Bierdrins could do was hold on for dear life and foul.

This question will be answered on the court.
Isiah has no clue about this kind of stuff. He is player-coach. He is coaching on the instinct.
For now I think Eddy - this way guards used to play last year and it is hard to break the habits.
Then if both will stay healthy (which is a question mark) they will demand the first role by their game.
It is also possible that they will push each other out of this role if personal game will be above the team game for both.

If I were Zeke:

I would be all for a Curry/filler for Dalembert/filler trade if they ever wanted to go that root. Not sure how high the 76ers are on Dalembert and the progress he's made so far (or rather the progress they think he should have made by now - I know they're not too happy with his lack of offensive pro). Dalembert and what he brings would be a much better fit playing next to Zach than Curry - doesn't take a genius to figure that out. Not so sure I'd say he's unavailable especially if we dangle guys like Curry, Lee and/or Balkman. Definitely something I'd explore if I was Isiah, but I know he won't so whatever... I wouldn't mind getting Rodney Carney back in this scenario either. A

If they ever really get serious about acquiring Artest from the Kings, Justin Williams would have to come back in the deal if it was up to me. Young, hungry, inexpensive shotblocker that would be an excellent reserve, especially if we gave up on Lee in this scenario.

On the defensive end he would be a better fit, but on the offensive end, his man would help to double Zach.

eton thomas.

Camby. Dalembert. If Eddy is outstanding as people say he is, surely we should be able to get a role player shot-blocker and multiple unprotected draft picks for him just like what we gave up for him. If anything, his value should be even higher now than when we got him since he just had his "breakout" season.

If a team is satisfied with a player why would they trade him? That's why I say there is nobody available. If camby was available and denver actually wanted curry then you have to consider. Dalembert isn't available. Chandler definately isn't available.

Any other names available? No.

I like etan thomas but how can the knicks get him? Dude is definately inconsistant and probably not worth it unless the wiz wants jared back.

We have an emerging franchise player and Dalembert is even available for him (according to you). If you're right, teams think even less of Curry than I realized.

Who really believes that Dalembert would be traded for Curry anyway? No way does Isiah even begin to look at such a deal. Teams couldn't deal with just Curry alone, much less now with Zach. IMO Curry's value isn't low at this point. I would guess that it's higher now than it was.

Bash him all you want but Curry is a force. You can't find another big like him right now, so why even worry about it. There aren't that many great defensive centers and I don't care how many blocked shots Dalembert get's he still not a great defensive player. I'd much rather keep Curry and deal with the lack of Blocks. So long as he improves on his rebounding and moving better to close down the lane, I'll take that.

Bonn Your "friend" told me you were a Psyche major. As such what would you say to somebody with so much obsessive hatred for a basketball player that has never harmed him in the least?

I think we should make Zach the #1 option, because according to Steph he can:
A) Make a layup
B) Make a free throw (he can make a free throw)
C) Make the college 3
D) Hit the NBA 3 if we needed him to make it to win the championship

I don't think Philly is as high on Dalembert as everyone thinks.

Good point when we are in the nba championship and need a 3 to win we should go to Zach. :)

The fun part that has been overlooked in all the commotion over low block-this-and-that...

how much does Zach change the playing personality of the Knicks? That intangible thing that says,, "you better not mess with that fool..."

If you were in a street fight, who would you really holla for a dude named Channing?

C'mon

SO what now you just ignore Zach being here?

You just ignore the fact that the team is going into the season with some chemistry, confidence and an understanding of what the Coach wants them to do?

You can't just assume that nothing has changed when clearly it's not the same situation we had the last 2 seasons, each of which had a new coach and system. Each of which had us relying on guys that had very little experience. Now our top 9-10 players have played in the NBA and that should help. We got rid of Francis and Frye who weren't working. This is more than likely to be our best season of the Isiah Era and it's a shame that you can't see that. I feel bad for you to be so depressed and stuck living in the past.

If you put aside the extra losses due to injury, this team was probably about a 40 win team. Are you so sure that this team isn't better than that now? COME ON! I know you can't really feel that way. 35 wins?

Marv - you know it.

But let me remind you how it works so we are clear.

If a player dons the orange and blue he is instantly a better man. He is ours and earns my support, for better or worse, just for being a New York Knick. When that fateful day comes when he is traded all privledges are instantly revoked and said player becomes just another average schmo on the street.

This rule does not apply to Reggie Miller, Walt Frazier or Jalen Rose.
