I'm beginning to wonder what was the real deal with David Lee last yr and why KVH was treated like he was.
That is a legitimate question

Thats an idiotic question. Why bother to draft Lee in the first place if he has a problem with his skin color?!

BTW, I have heard nothing but glowing comments/compliments from Lee towards Isiah. Lee played 30 min per off the bench, more than Frye, how was Lee mistreated? Balkman hardly played either. Is skin color an excuse for Balk to? Oh, I forgot, Balk is white....never mind.....

I wish we were talking about basketball. I watch sports to get away from this stuff.
I think it's pretty obvious what's going on. It's bad. Endlessly speculationg on what it means isn't satisfying either.
If you are still following the team and reading sites like this, there is nothing, short of your own demise, that is going to throw you off this train.

Now, I'm not an Isiah supporter but he never said that it was "OK" for any one of any color to use the word. That's poor spin. There are plenty of legitimate reasons to criticize Isiah.

you are correct, but when you are out to get someone, you see what you want to see. I have been repeting this over and over, no one WANTS to see it.

Look at it this way from what I SAY UGH said it can be translated this way...

Calling someone out of their name(Black Woman) is wrong no matter who says it but if a White Man says it I have a problem with him and will discipline him accordingly(more than likely I'll fire him) if a Black Man says it I'll have to distinguish(more than likely I'll suspend him)

It would be like giving two different sentencing to two different people of race for the same crime committed. If people can't see how terribly wrong that is then they need to examine themselves. The fact he left tons of room for interpretation while apologizing, willingly offering up something that wasn't asked of him until after he made the initial distinctive statement is grounds for serious concern.

I'm beginning to wonder what was the real deal with David Lee last yr and why KVH was treated like he was.

Papabear Says

TrueBlue: What have you ever done to help black womans causes. I'll tell you some of the things Zeke did. He donated money to the abused woman cause. He is a great father to his daughters. He has donated money and spoke at many black colleges. He drafted David Lee. He got his degree and encourage all young kids to do the same. So stop Zeke hattin. Oh I'm wasting my breath. You are trying to start something about David Lee. Hey we all love Lee and so does Zeke, but I know where you were trying to take that.

Papabear, if you truly want to be objective then ou got to man up and say that Isiah came out with some of the dumbest **** that any high level manager has ever come out his mouth with. And the fact that Isiah drafted David Lee has nothing to do with black women...cmona man, this guy is a joke, i defended him for a long time, but i feel ive finally seen that this guy is just an idiot. Do we need someone with such a lack of comman sense that he would not just call a woman a bitch in the workplace, but then come out with such a retarded defense? Cmon papabear, man up and say the dude ****ed up.

Drew Sharp is worthless. What a vile, bootlicking Tom.

First of all the condemnation of his wildly misleading title is valid. Zeke never said it was ok. Second, his assertion that there is a "double standard" and invoking Don Imus is laughable. If anything the double standard is the other way around.

Imus was essentially attacked by a black special interest group, not "the black community". Why whenever one black person says or does anything, it immediately becomes a referendum on the whole race. When Falwell attacked the Teletubbies was he, in essence, speaking for the "white community"?

And thats not even getting to the guts of the Imus story. Basically people as a whole shrugged their shoulders about the whole story and felt it was nothing more than an inappropriate joke. Imus was done in by the corporate entity that supported him once advertisers starting pulling out. Thats the only reason he was canned; black people did not fire him. He became a martyr for whites in relation to black "oversensitivity" and he will be getting his job back in no time.

Zeke on the other hand has become a pariah based upon something he allegedly said. His assertion about what whites should say and what blacks should say is clumsy at best, but I dont see why this story has risen to the level that it has. I find it more than insidious that Zeke and OJ are front and center stories, while the Jena 6 has received minimal coverage, and when it has seen light often the stories are sympathetic to the antagonists and the Jena judicial system.

Vick, OJ, Zeke, Jena 6...we turning back the clock or what?

BTW, just so people dont get the wrong impression, this is not a pro-Zeke post. Ol' boy is practically fit for termination at this point. But I'm just fed up with media's seemingly voracious appetite for stories with an anti-black spin

Agree...I hate this whole notion that one African American speaks for the black community. That is ridiculous. It's one person's opionon. It's so freaking stupid and pathetic. As much as I don't agree with Isiah he is entitled to his opinion. It's his, he owns it. He does not speak for an entire race nor should an entire race feel embarrased as if he's some sort of spokesperson for the entire race. His comments are deplorable because of his position of leadership within the organization. I've worked in HR and what he said is a legal nightmare. If not fired, i believe he (along with the rest of management) needs extensive training in diversity inclusion.

NY KNICKS 4 EVER! Will we ever find players like Anthony Mason, Xavier McDaniels, Patrick Ewing again? I hope so.
