Amare, because he's still young

I hope they have their #1 pick for next year.

Imagine they end up w/OJ Mayo to match up alongside Roy & Oden? that's the building blocks for a dynasty right there.

and they got aldridge and jarret jack.

Huge Silver Lining for the Trailblazers would be adding another lottery pick to that group while hopefully getting a healthy Oden back next year.

If I were them, I'd tank this year.

My first thought was they're getting OJ Mayo now.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

Dumping Zach will help them even more.

No ball hog to deal with this year. They can build a nice foundation with Roy, Aldridge, Jack, McRoberts, Webster, Frye and all their other young guys.

celtic fans are rejoicing...

What about Knick fans who secretly wish that the Bulls had won the lottery, so that this franchise killing, catastrophically bad luck would've happened to them.

Franchise killing, catastrophically bad luck?

Right now, knowing what you know about Oden, which franchise do people think is in better shape for the future: The Knicks or Blazers?

If only the Knicks could "suffer" this catastrophic. At least it would mean they have a franchise player.

Yeah, I'd still take Oden over anyone we have. He's young and athletic. He should be able to make an Amare type of comeback.

That's only applies if the Bulls would have selected Oden.

Could you imagine if this injury lingers for a few seasons and he is forced to retire. Meanwhile Kevin Durant goes on to lead Seattle to multiple titles. Good thing that's never happened to Portland before.
Man, talk about ****ty luck for Portland!! The finally get a #1 pick and select a legit franchise center and Deja Vu!!! I called a co-worker in Portland and found him in complete shock. Went over to a few Blazers' forums to find pretty much the same "1984 all over again" type talk. Even Bill Simmons got in on the 'should have taken Durant' talk and now he is basically calling Oden damaged goods.
http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/blog/index?name=simmons
That's why the Blazers should have taken the most talented player. And everything that happened after the draft helped Durant's case: Oden looked terrible in the summer league and dropped out of the Olympic tryouts because of exhaustion (a dubious reason for someone who's 19; we should have known right there). Meanwhile, Durant got better and better in summer league and knocked everyone's socks off during the Olympic tryouts, including a jaw-dropping performance in the Blue-White scrimmage on TV. Even before the story broke about Oden's surgery, I was 100 percent convinced Portland would regret passing on Durant. We'll see 20 more Odens before we see another Durant.
I really hope Oden gets to come back healthy and dominate. Man, what a crappy time to be a Blazers fan!
