arkrud - do you care to name your top three "claen hands" candidates?

you don't want to be caught unprepared when Stern imposes his will on the Knicks with a stiff penalty for exercising poor and bad taste

Patric, Huston, Oak, LJ, Starks, Frazer, Spike ...
They love Knicks and they ARE Knicks.
Dolan, Isiah, Mills, Steph, Zack...
They hate Knicks fans and thay are NOT Knicks.

The candidates

okay arkrud - let's you and I, in the spirit of brotherhood and cooperation, fix this thing - starting with your picks. Here are the best job titles from existing departments at MSG:

President & Chief Executive Officer, Cablevision Systems Corporation;
Chairman, Madison Square Garden and NBA Governor - c'mon we're stuck with the Dolans until a military coup

Vice Chairman, Cablevision Systems Corporation;
Vice Chairman, Madison Square Garden - Spike Lee/Woody Allen (but it will never happen)

President & Chief Operating Officer, MSG Sports - Bill Bradley
President, Basketball Operations & Head Coach - Mark Jackson
Senior Vice President, Finance & Controller, MSG - Allan Houston
Senior Vice President, Team Sales - Steve Jobs, free orange and blue ipods for everyone
Senior Vice President, Basketball Operations - nixluva
Senior Vice President, Legal Affairs, MSG - Larry Johnson
Vice President, Community Relations & Fan Development - John Starks
Vice President, Sports Team Publicity, MSG - Briggs
Vice President, Marketing - piece of cake, djsu
Vice President, Team Sponsorships - Patrick Ewing, who is telling him no?
Vice President, Public Relations - Charles Oakley, hands down
Vice President, Event Presentation - Walt Frazier, anyone who can wear those suits can present a basketball game

Now, that's what I call a plan!

And the sad part is you are being serious.

Allanfan - the sadder part is that you are a Celtics fan

dude, you wouldn't know the difference between "serious" and mirth if it landed on your head with the force of The Hammer of Thor

arkrud - you show me an example of a major corporation that is devoid of personnel issues and I'll buy you a Big Mac

Whatever is broken at MSG it can be fixed. But it takes a tough man to make a tender chicken.

The question to ask yourself is, given the ownership structure cemented in place - is how?

and how long?

Thomas and Steve Mills are a big problem, as is the power the players have and the lack of professionalism. You need to start moving people the way the blazers did, the way the bulls did and build through talented character you can't have a questionable at every position.

Bingo!
I'll never trust this' team again.

Every time you pay a ticket to a game, everytime you buy a cap or watch a game on television, then you and everyone else helps the Knicks make money. Dolan and company see this and they know it works. Who needs championships, if the money is already coming in, by the millions and millions every year? I barely watch any' games at all, so I don't give direct financial support to this joke. Here's the real kicker. The Rangers have a far more better chance of winning a championship than we do. All the more power to them, but do you see, what exactly is our' problem from Isiah on down? Why are the Rangers doing it and not us? So could it in fact be Dolans fault really? I think our problems begin with Isiah.
I'll never trust this' team again.

Dolan is an owner and the only failure of his in relation to Knicks is Mills and Isiah. And I am not sure about Isiah hiring but with keeping him so long.
Isiah became a loser since he stop playing and started his executive carrier. But his greatness as players still working for his image and Dolan get cut on this.
Isiah think that he is the smartest guy around and collected all available junk dumped by other NBA teams for various reasons. It can probably work for one of the cases (head-cases) but what the point?
We want our team grow, we want to see success of the young guys and chemistry build up, and great coaching, and great characters. Can we have this with Isiah junk collection?

IF you can get past the strange way that Isiah has gone about putting together this team, it's really not a bad job he's done. The drafting has been very good. Overall his trades have brought back more value than we've given. The really bad part of things has been his MLE signings and hiring Head Coaches. Now that he's the coach we don't have to worry about his hirings. I think we've seen the last of his MLE signings. All that remains now is for him to refine the roster. I expect that we'll be looking for our future PG over the next season or 2.

I think he's done a very good job of adding young talent and we just need to keep the team together and grow these guys into a quality team. With guys like Balk, Mardy, Chan and DNic in the wings, I feel good about the future of the team. Whether isiah stays or not, he's stocked the shelves very well and anyone following him should have a much easier job than he did following Layden.

We are going back over and over again to same LONELY argument in favor of Isiah.
He brought nice young talent. And this is true.
But most of the players coming to NBA from draft are nice young talent.
The main goal for GM and coach is to create the environment for this talent to grow. Make these kids a MAN.
Can Isiah and MSG the way we know them succeed in this task?
I seriously doubt it.
We have mentally dysfunctional organization from top to bottom. And players (both young and veterans) are suffering from this and it shows with bad team performance and personal blunders.
And things are not getting better. In fact they are getting worth.

We should built The TEAM not prove the point that Isiah is great.
And for some reason MSG is trying to do the second.
Good luck trying.

I don't disagree with anything you said. But eventually you have to stop winning on paper and start winning on the court. The time has come

The knicks in the 90's were build to go to the semi's which proved to be a huge profit for MSG. THey were not built to go-all-the-way.
