let’s see how he does with the slow-down unit. him craw, itchy, scratchy and q. but i'm gonna be itchin myself to see the "spree/camby" 2nd unit of balk, lee, collins , nate and . . . jerome! all right, morris, whomever. but i predict it's not gonna be long before people are commenting how much better the ball movement is with the second unit and are calling for collins to get minutes with the 1st unit, or craw at point and someone else at sg. or something like that. i think you’re gonna see marbury get regulated to a secondary role as the season progresses.

One minute you are a fan that doesn't realize how much talent the Knicks have. The next minute you are a fan that doesn't realize that Marbs has had no supporting cast. It's magic!
I just hope that people will like me

I honestly think Dinglebury will play well enough to lead this team in the 1st half of the season. Setting him up to be traded before the trading deadline. A 4 guard rotation of Nate, Mardy, Q and Jamal would be ideal for this group.

that’s right. nash moves right into the scene that marbs moves out of and flourishes. kidd moves into the scene that marbs moved out of and flourishes. but it's NEVER anything to do with marbs. watch the flood of posts now stating EVERY single roster change that occurred. it's always the same excuse for a career loser. hopefully soon we'll be on the other end of that formula.

This is one of those things that perplexes me:

People saying he doesn't have a supporting cast.

UH, THIS GUY ISN'T A FRANCHISE PLAYER!

He IS the supporting cast...

DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Good point.

The one two punch on this team that is talented enough to take us somewhere is Curry and Zach. OUr hope is that these two can figure it out and realize that it is there job to lead the supporting cast not the other way around. If they play up to their abilities AND lead we can really do something. Marbs is part of their supporting cast. I think many of us, myself included, make the mistake of thinking he is a franchise caliber player. He is a franchise caliber talent that has never figured out how to lead. OUr hope is that he now plays "good soldier" like he attempted to do after the comeback pout fest and helps us. He is not a leader. I need to remind myself of that sometimes. The hope is that Curry and Zach can somehow learn.

Ok this concludes the hate section of the thread.

Can we talk about the possibility of trading his contract after next season? It will have to be a salary dump type of trade. Maybe another disgruntled player gets moved for marbs contract.

Any thoughts on that?

honestly, i wouldn't want a full-time player back for marbury. our backcourt is crowded as it is - i'd rather see those minutes go to our young guys (nate, mardy, demetris, whoever earns them) than another reclamation project.

so, pure salary dump, or jsut wait the extra year for him to leave of his own accord.

I'm with Masterplan, no need to bring in more fat to this roster. If we are going to stockpile we should continue to stockpile youth and potential.

Next year I'd just dump his contract (along with Isiah's), try and rebuild from scratch FOR ONCE.
