But having a beast of a power forward- someone who can dominate at his position- is something the Knicks haven't had since the championship team of the 70's-
And we didn't give up anything to get him- we have basically the same starting five with a major improvement at the 4- I'm actually more optimistic this year than the past 2, when I remember a lot of folks getting excited (about L Brown, no L Brown, etc)
If Zach is a "beast," why has he never made an all-star team or top 3 NBA team? I don't know if he's ever even gotten one vote for the top 3 NBA team. How do you define "best"? Top 10 in your position?
A) He has had off the court problems, which hurts his chances of being recognized. Simply put, they don't put problem childs in All-star games unless they are ubber all-stars.
b) He is 24 years old, and still developing his reputation in the league (his first couple of years he hardly played).
c) He played for a team that had a losing record and was in a small market.
d) He played in a conference with Amare, K.G., Duncan, Dirk, Boozer at the PF spots.
These are some of the reasons he has not made an allstar team, plus he has some holes in his game in that he can be a defensive liability. That being said, in terms of a player who can produce in the clutch, Z-bo is right up there with the top PFs in the game. To add this guy for basically Frye, was a huge upgrade.

So is he a "beast" or not? I'm tired of hearing that about a guy who might not even be top TEN in his position.
