I prefer Jamal off the bench, but if he had to start it would seem that he likes it better. He does some important things for the team, in particular he helps to spread the D, since he is a guy that can score and teams know that if he gets hot he can go off. He also stabilizes the offense when he's playing well, which he was later in the season. I felt he was much more steady making decisions than when we had Francis or Nate in there. Jamal isn't a pure shooter, he's a scorer. So he's not gonna look to be a very efficient offensive player. Still he can be effective.
He's a different cat than Q. Since Jamal is a combo guard, he brings that passing to the game that we wouldn't get from the other SG's on the team, except for Mardy. If you have Steph and Jamal out there with Zach and Curry, then you have 2 guards who can pass, shoot and drive well enough to run a dual post offense. We could have Jamal feed Curry and Steph feeding Zach on the other side, but I don't know if Isiah would go with that concept. In any event It's gonna be a tough decision for Isiah. Does he go with Q for better D or Jamal and a more versatile O?
